Mission: The corporation was formed to enhance the common interest and conditions of physicians who practice pain management. The corporation is dedicated to promoting the development of and practice of safe, high-quality, cost-effective interventional pain medicine techniques to diagnose and treat pain related disorders, and to ensure patient access to these.
Programs: Organization held its annual meeting in dallas, tx. Many members were in attendance with speakers to encourage advancement in the practice of interventional pain medicine. The organization has approximately 4,000 members. Sessions and lectures offered by distinguished faculty included, "interventional pain management: the time of our lives", "evolving concepts of endoscopic disc decompression", "getting involved for your survival: not optional", "business of pain medicine: managing your future", current utility and future of interventional techniques", "spinal cord stimulation", "minimally invasive technology". Additional sessions involving clinic-based interventions, emerging concepts and controversies, practice development and practice management, and controlled substance management were offered.

Courses were offered including "top compliance risks for interventional pain physicians", "cinical application of evidence-based medicine for interventional techniques", "opioid epidemic in us-the functional neurosurgeon's perspective. " a controlled substance course was offered for ama pra category 1 credits. The organization also offered webinars in interventional pain management throughout the year.
organization held four comprehensive review and cadaver workshops in orlando, fl, las vegas, nv, and memphis, tn during the year. Many members were in attendance seeking hands on education in the field of interventional pain medicine. The organization offered interventional techniques review courses in regenerative medicine, ipm techniques, lumbar endoscopic spinal decompression, and spinal cord stimulation. Organization also held review courses as a cme activity to prepare for competency certification or an in-depth review in areas of controlled substance management and coding, compliance, and practice management. These courses were intended to present interventional pain management specialists, nurses, and other healthcare providers an in-depth review of multiple areas of interventional pain management.
