Mission: American society for deaf children (asdc) is the premier source of information for people who must make decisions about deaf children: providers, educators, legislators, and advocates; and to the parents of the deaf children.
Programs: Other services: asdc provides services that promote and establish parent-helping-parent network, and awareness among families; provide support, invaluable resources and information relating to their deaf and hard of hearing children, develop a resource directory of services for parents of deaf and hard of hearing children through advocacy and asdc website; and through booths at the regional and national conferences.
endeavor magazines: the endeavor focuses on the issues of importance to the families. They are published three times a year to keep parents of deaf/hard of hearing children, professionals, and members informed and educated about the issues, resources, and programs for the deaf/hard of hearing children.
asdc conference: asdc conference for the parents of deaf and hard of hearing children and their children is held annually in the summer; presentations, topics, workshops and group discussions are offered. Reduced registration fees for the conference are made possible through the asdc support.
asl learning opportunity: asl learning opportunity is a two-day event focusing on teaching families and professionals american sign language. This unique event includes several workshops, small class and one-on-one attention that will focus on deaf culture, asl and more. The event offers more than seven hours of asl class instruction.
