They had great reference links and a newsletter. I found out about the 'happy chemicals' that get robbed from your brain due to the chronic pain and how to replace them. I came back here to find out the name of the drugs that replace these naturally produced happy chemicals because I never tried them and want to try them now. I later saw these same drugs referenced in other scholarly reviews and medical journals so I knew APF's information was right and FIRST a long time ago. (these are not endorphins or opioids, it is a percursor to such I think). At any rate, I had always planned to get active in this group/foundation when the time was right because I live in Baltimore Md. the time was now and now they're gone! How sad. I do have the name of that drug written somewhere so I will find it. contact me Carolyn or others if you like - It's a hard life at times, I know. We're in this together. (I do not use opioids other than about 7 percs a year) Tangerine77@gmail.com ( I couldn't post a high review because I didn't use them fully)

My name is carolyn im 57yrs old I live with chronic back pain fusions.n need 3 more surgeries ...at one time i was looked at as a super mom ..i also ran everyday for 7yrs had an amazing life..then drunk driver took it all away in matter of seconds..my life has changed in everyway..no aspect of it has not been affected by it..i have taken my meds for over ten yrs now..they dont take away all the pain..but they have given me back some semblence of normalcy..i follow my contract to the letter...always have..i am....as well as everyone else..aware there is an opiod epedemic...never !!!!!...in my life did i think the people who have done the right thing as far as thier conditions n agreements with thier dr.s....would be the very people they would punish..not the people seeking "highs"...its become more n more apparent they are bending over backwards to do all they can .....for people on illegal drugs...for us that are responsible n functioning...we are now literaly....THROWN AWAY...no one speaks on our behalf ...sadly..not even our dr.s...we have no options now we cannot go to another dr. That would be ..."drug seeking". Our dr.s know this and still after many yrs with them..they just let u go..many people will now either seek illegal drugs or commit suicide..many parents will not be able to care for thier children...loose thier jobs...there for loose thier homes..it is incomprehendible in the year 2018..that something like this could happen to decent people....people who already have it bad enough..i feel thier making very little headway in the fight of opiods..with the heroin n fenytanol so....they have to show some improvement somewhere...and we have become that...the.."THROW AWAYS"....i have tremendous respect for our government n country..but i do not think anyone working in the DEA...should be able to come btw a dr. And thier patients...its overstepping..at its best..im wondering how many yrs it will take now ??...to see the incredibly bad results from this farce..how many innocent people will literaly die...btw illegal drugs n suicide..imagine my suprise when my dr. Dropped this bomb on me so i went to the internet and thier are too many stories to read...the utter misery..screams out at you....the government should leave the medicine to the dr.s...the dr.s over prescribing..should b held accountable...certainly..not all dr.s...n...not all patients..its not a one size fits all..there should b some kind of criteria ?..i am not a dr....but i can see the difference btw someone who has severe problems n someone who is drug seeking...i could go on n on..but no one cares..we r truly the forgotten people...im also a catholic..so can i say ?...for all the people who had a hand in this....may God have mercy on your souls.!!!!

Unfortunately, this charity was forced to close. The struggle of those of us suffering chronic pain was their struggle. The ignorance, the over reach of DEA/government interfering with doctor and patient relationships so even non-biased medical professionals fear to treat us, properly, the stigma and false information regarding safe use of opioid, our routine under treatment,....it is a real epidemic and I am so sad to learn this charity was destroyed. Like so many lives of chronic pain victims , further victimized by those supposed to help us.
