There are only so many non-profits in the United States focused on nursing. And the other prominent ones that I am aware of have been in partnership with American Nurses Foundation (the Daisy Foundation, Nurses House). I was interested in supporting nurses in the wake of the pandemic and this organization was accessible, it had the highest ratings from Charity Navigator and Candid, and I was able to communicate with their staff easily.
My friend Deane did a peer-to-peer campaign supporting American Nurses Foundation using an art piece she created. She spoke very highly of the staff and the mission, I was happy to support and thought it was a great collaboration of causes.
I don't know a lot about nursing, I come from the tech space. But I appreciate how the Foundation is utilizing mobile apps to reach younger nurses. Solutions like Happy, Moodfit and more recently the Vitalize Care app have all been made available to any nurse who needs it.
Our company has had a great working relationship with American Nurses Foundation. Our partnership has enriched the knowledge of our staff and we have also been able to make a significant impact on the Foundation's programs through our long-term investment. Supporting nursing in as many ways as possible is an integral part of our work so we are grateful to partner with a national non-profit focused on only that.
Informed programs, responsive staff. I wish it was easier to learn about their work and impact but I appreciate how their website is easy for me to navigate.
I made a donation in honor of my late aunt who was a nurse. I received a hand signed note from their Executive Director the following week. It was a nice touch.
I found out about this organization when I donated to them via an apparel purchase of Skechers gear last May. Skechers was donating a portion of sales proceeds in-store to American Nurses Foundation. I talked to the cashier and they directed me to the website. I was pleased to see that my retail purchase was also going towards something more important - supporting nurses and their well-being. I appreciate this partnership as it made it easy for me to make a difference.
Aside from the Daisy Foundation American Nurses Foundation is one of the only non-profits in the United States with a focus on nurses and a national platform. I like how they utilize surveys of all kinds of nurses to inform their programs, and currently they seem to focus on nurse well-being combined with forward-looking programs aimed at solving the larger issues with the profession. This two pronged approach is important as there are both short term and long term issues facing the profession currently.
I stopped by their table at the recent Magnet/Pathway conference in Chicago. I appreciate the emphasis they are placing on well-being in their programming, and I also like how they partner with local charities around the annual conference. It makes it easier to donate when you can support two great causes at one time.
I wanted to create a memorial fundraiser for my late relative who was a registered nurse for 25 + years. The Foundation staff was kind, responsive and created a dedicated page that I could share with my friends and family across the country.
Glad to know the ANA has a charitable arm that can focus solely on providing benefit and enrichment to nurses at no extra cost to them.
I serve on a non-profit board alongside a nurse that 'graduated' from the Foundation's "Nurses on Boards Coalition" program. I think it is great that the Foundation is intentional about creating leadership programs for nurses, both in and out of the hospital setting.
As a practicing nurse, I appreciate that there is a charity dedicated to registered nurses in the United States. I've been able to benefit professionally from the resources provided around leadership and mental health, but more importantly I've seen countless more nurses in need receive critical support during the pandemic thanks to this Foundation's disaster relief efforts.
I love that they support research while also dealing with more immediate needs like mental and physical health of nurses.
This is the definitive non-profit charitable Foundation for registered nurses in the united states. Their programs are informed by front-line nurses, and the cause is important since nurses represent over 20% of all healthcare workers but are disproportionately represented in the non-profit space.
The American Nurses Foundation invests in the wellbeing and success of individual nurses and the healthcare system through the eyes and work of nurses. The Foundation quickly pivoted to address and support nurses on the frontlines when COVID-19 hit, supporting mental health and wellness webinars and resources, help for nurses experiencing financial hardship during this pandemic and ongoing nursing research for both COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 concerns. Having a foundation focused on nurses and the needs of nursing is so important as our healthcare system thrives only when nurses and the nursing profession is succeeding.
Very thorough and professional organization. Leaders in fundraising for nurses and the education and professional development of nurses.
ANA is an incredible organization that consistently delivers on their mission. They have continued to provide an unprecedented level of support to nurses who have been impacted by the pandemic. They recently launched an exciting new initiative, seeking to fund bold proposals to transform nursing education, technology and direct reimbursement care models. I am grateful for their work, especially during this time!
I am a nurse. I am a nurse who is proud and standing tall, not because of what I have done. Rather, because of the nurses who have worked before me, who stand beside me now and give of their best day in and day out.
Yet, there are times when giving and doing our best is simply not enough. There is no blaming, no faulting, no minimizing here. Especially since the advent of COVID, that is what I believe many nurses are feeling and experiencing in the depths of our bodies and of our spirits.
The American Nurses Foundation Inc (ANF), is a not-for profit foundation of nurses working behind the scenes in real and tangible ways for nurses.
I encourage every nurse that I know to become a member of the American Nurses Association. One of the privileges of that membership is that I automatically become a member of ANF. Through my financial donations, I tangibly support my many peers who have stood in my stead throughout COVID and other difficult and trying times.
Keep up the great work American Nurses, ANA and ANF.
The American Nurses Foundation is the foundation devoted to advancing the profession of nursing as a part of improving the health and lives of all Americans. Throughout the challenges of the last 2 years I have personally seen the impact of the philanthropy of the foundation especially as it affects the mental health of nurses during a time of great emotional and mental struggle for nurses on the front lines of crisis care. No foundation has done more to help nurses make a difference. For me personally, the foundation's work has enlightened me to just how central nurses are to the health of the nation and the impact they have. A dollar donated to the American Nurses Foundation ultimately improves the health of every American. How could I not continue to support that work!
