Nonprofit Overview
Mission: To provide programs of support for military veterans in the local community and for the community at large.
Programs: Operation of member's club to facilitate meetings of general membership and committees responsible for the work of the american legion in the local community including sponsorship of: 1)ceremonial honor guard, 2) chaplain services, 3) programs and services for hospitalized, injured, and disabled veterans, 4) community outreach programs including junior rotc, boys state scholarships, and youth oratorical competition. Sponsor open community events featuring guest speakers and solemn ceremonies to commemorate the contributions and sacrifices of miltary service personel to mark memorial day, flag day, independence day, and veterans day.
support provided to auxiliary and related veterans organizations including the local affiliates of the american legion ladies auxiliary and disabled veterans association.
