In 2017, there were 4,150 libraries with licensed access through a multi-journal consortium and 103 institutions with stand-alone subscriptions. Ajes was also available in 7,766 institutions in the developing world on a free or low-cost basis. Globally, around 120,000 ajes articles were downloaded. Two of the five ajes issues each year are also published by wiley-blackwell as free-standing, indexed books in both hardcover and paperback.
