Mission: Ahef is a non-profit, non-partisan educational organization dedicated to the understanding and teaching of america's factual and philosophical heritage to promote constructive citizenship and freedom, unity, progress, and responsibility among our students and citizens.
Programs: The american heritage education foundation, inc. (ahef) is dedicated to the teaching and understanding of americas factual and philosophical heritage including the bible-inspired principles that greatly influenced americas founding. Our goal is to strengthen and preserve america through informed, productive citizenship and increased freedom, unity, progress, and responsibility (fupr)ahefs formula for americas success by means of various educational programs. Ahef provides factual, objective, patriotic teaching resources to teachers, home-schoolers, school districts, schools, students, families, and citizens to increase understanding of america's founding documents, principles, history, and national symbols. Ahef distributes lesson plans as free digital downloads and as printed binders throughout all 50 states. In 2013, ahef completed and published its unprecedented, critically-acclaimed text that documents and strongly proves the connection between judeo-christian ideas and americas founding political philosophy, titled the miracle of america: the influence of the bible on the founding history and principles of the united states of america for a people of every belief. In 2016, ahef published the corresponding the miracle of america high school teacher course guide to assist teachers in teaching the miracle text/topics as a course or units in the classroom. Also in 2016, ahef produced a new volume of lesson plans on americas founding documents for middle and high school teachers titled americas heritage: an experiment in self-government. It serves as a sequel to ahefs first volume of award-winning, widely-distributed lesson plans titled americas heritage: an adventure in liberty. Ahef has distributed over 110,000 free lesson plans from its houston office and over 30,000 free lesson plans from partner offices. Ahefs main website currently averages about 60,000 visitors per year and allows member educators to access online lesson plans and resources. In 2017, ahef launched two new, important programs:1) ahef kicked off the inaugural american history and western civilization challenge bowl (ahwccb). Ahwccb is a college-level academic competition and scholarship that encourages the teaching and study of american history and philosophy, and western civilization. The competition is judged by professional historians and scholars. Cash scholarships are awarded to student participants based on performance. The first ahwccb was held in houston, tx, on january 27-28, 2017, among four texas universities: texas state university, sam houston state university, houston baptist university, and texas southern university. Ahef will expand the program to four additional universities in its second competition scheduled for january 2019 in new york city. This second competition will include students from harvard, princeton, the kings college (ny) and grove city college (penn. ). 2) ahef launched a weekly content website/blog called the founding at www. Thefounding. Net. The blog features articles, videos, research, and teaching ideas on americas founding principles, giving special attention to the bible-based principles that shaped americas foundations as documented in ahefs miracle of america. The blog serves as an accessible, content-focused resource for citizens, teachers, and home-schoolers. It coordinates with a newsletter and social media campaign. Ahef continues to design new and innovative projects to help teachers, students, and citizens better understand americas founding history and principles and, ultimately, to strengthen and perpetuate the united states of americas unique self-government and socio-economic system for the benefit of all.
