I was just in Israel and met Mariuma, founder of Shanti House. I was very impressed with her and her home for young Israeli's, regardless of religion, orientation, etc. She opened her heart to these youngsters and created a home environment in which they are able to thrive, grow up and give back. She has raised these children as her own, and with her own and they still return to volunteer or just celebrate Shabbat and holidays together!

Has been organized specifically and precisely to aid the shanti house, which is an non-profit organization in israel housing victims who are suffering immeasurably due to the economic disasters plaguing israel. These victims are homeless teens who do not have a place to live. The circumstances are exacerbated by the most recent additional tensions of the fallout of investments that have now been perpetrated against victims families who have been evicted from their homes, their businesses, and related comprehensive financialinstability. In addition, these victims have been verbally, physically, and sexually abused. They are teens who dont have homes to go to and would have to live on the streets were it not for this organization.
