I am glad to support American Family Housing and am the Chair of our Board. AFH is a dedicated, gifted and hard working community of staff and volunteers that are achieving something great in regards to homelessness: They provide housing and services to shelter them off our streets. They advocate and educate our community to raise awareness of this great social scourge and to inspire merciful action on behalf of the least in our midst. They realize this mission with great kindness and compassion.
Reached out to this incredible organization a yr ago desperate for an advocate ( best one ever) Marlene).
She was so instrumental in recognizing and understanding my severe mental health and walked side by side and me and kids blessed to be in beautiful apartment
CEO and Sr. Director of Finance are very unethical. and wrongfully terminated employment and evicted a hud-vash family in retaliation for reporting misconduct by AFH employees. The disable veteran and family were tossed to the streets and have lost their housing voucher as a result.
The CEO is quoted in every news paper claiming the she and AFH will ensure that once a veteran is housed , that veteran will not be homeless again.
The veteran a family were current on rent, entered into a new lease agreement, and a contract with the ceo that was all ignored by AFH. The finance director is extremely ignorant when it comes to housing laws and rights.
AFH has yet to post 2015 financials and audits. The truth will come out very soon.
Potters Lane- I will be posting the financials soon.
Lies, Lies, Lies.... this non profit is in over it's head. Eventually everything comes out in the wash. Sad, what I thought was such a great non profit organization has shown to be a fake and a fraud.

It is all a lie. Staff and clients live in fear.
It is with hope that at least the veterans will be helped and the money will actually be used for services and not just for a few months.
American Family Housing from hope to home to homeless.
Afh took my son and I in when no other program would. Due to my disability I cannot work and could not qualify for transitional or low- income housing; now we have a place to call home, services to help us live as independently as possible.
AFH is and was there when no one could help; we are truly blessed.

I have been involved with American Family Housing for over 5 years. I do "success coaching" (job readiness training) there two times a year. My experience with the organization and the staff is that they treat everyone with an equal amount of respect with the goal of getting their clients to a place of self-esteem and self-sufficiency.
I recently started volunteering at American Family Housing. The staff is very friendly and shows a genuine appreciation for the volunteer work I do. It is inspiring to see what they do with helping the homeless with shelter, counseling, food etc.
The service they provide to our community is outstanding!!!

I have seen American Family Housing work endlessly to better the lives of struggling individuals. It is truly inspiring to see that hard work pay off when individuals find permanent supportive housing and other supportive services. Thank you to everyone at American Family Housing for all that you do for our community!
I am very impressed with American Family Housing's efficiency. The facility has 3 uses: 1) as a corporate office 2) community and resource center for the needy, and 3) as a residence for homeless individuals. I value their commitment to keeping operations cost low. American Family Housing only allocates 10% of their budget to operation costs. I feel good knowing that I am serving an organization that reserves 90% of their budget to help the homeless directly.

Their transitional housing program model should be adopted by our government. This organization is truly making a difference in the lives of many who need a leg up. Thank you.

I was a homeless woman with a lot of health issues struggling with my life. American Family Housing took me in, counseled me, helped me with my health issues, and helped me get back into school. I am now living in my own apartment for the first time in my life, going to school full time working towards an AA in Health Information Technology, and my health is better than it has been in years. I am so thankful for this program and everyone that works with it.
