My few years with this organization has been nothing short of exemplary. The staff is sincerely in their pursuit of furthering music education, they are professional in their approach and decorum and the opportunities I and my students have been given to advance our musical education and career have been plentiful and mutually beneficial to me, my students and the organization.
I have been associated with the American Drum Line Association since it's inception, as a school director, instructor, past board member and adjudicator. This grass roots organization has succeeded in continuing to serve the local school and youth ensembles with quality performance opportunities, clinicians, and performance venues, even experiencing growth, in a very difficult economic climate. The state of the art of percussion in Southern California has improved tremendously over the last two decades, largely due to the efforts of the American Drum Line Association and similar organizations.
I have been a member of this association for over 10 years. In addition, I have served this association in an adjudicator role for 5 years now. In my time with this association I only have positive things to say about the organization. In short this organization strives to provide positive educational experiences to students from all walks of life. The organization has provided my students with some of the most fulfilling experiences of their high school lives while participating in this organizations events.
American Drumline Association offers the students a healthy and rewarding place to share their art. Drumline is a young Fine Art and there are not many places where students are encouraged in such a new way. ADLA encourages this new art form. It is a competition but I have sat in the stands and talked with my students after performing and they just want other students to see their show and see the other shows. ADLA is supporting our students in a great way and is professional in their endeavor.
ADLA is an amazing organization. Unlike a lot of associations, they are truly dedicated to helping students learn. They have the right goals in mind, and still maintain a competitive atmosphere. I have the utmost respect for all of the people that make ADLA such a good group to have students involved in.
This is a extremely beneficial organization as it supports music education in our schools. With the continuing cutbacks, music and other arts are suffering. The American Drum Line Association has provided fund-raising opportunities for schools through well organized, well run, competitive events for over 28 years. Member groups can compete at one or more of the 10 Divisions offered. This organization also supports community groups and is one of the few to offer programs for Junior and Middle Schools.
