Nonprofit Overview

Mission: In keeping with the diligent efforts of our pioneer Forefathers, who settled our nation during the Great Westward Expansion with barn-raisings, house-buildings, and crop-plantings, American Culture Council, Inc. provides events, presentations, and promotions about some aspect of America’s history. Partnered with The Home Depot, American Culture Council, Inc. locates military Veteran homeowners and nonprofit Veteran agencies to inform them of the “Celebration of Service” project. This wonderful project – free to the Veteran or Veteran nonprofit agency - refurbishes the homes and/or premises for the Veterans as a way to put meaningful action into the words, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice to our nation.” With these projects, we show that Americans still care for our neighbors. We gratefully recognize the sacrifices of our military members, as they kept their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States.

Results: 25 Veteran homeowners and 2 nonprofit Veteran agencies with property needs have been located. Of the 27 applicants, 22 have received a preliminary walk-through of their property to assess their needs. Of the 22 who have had walk-throughs, work for 5 Veteran homes and both nonprofits' premises have been funded. 1 Veteran homeowner, whose family of 5 occupies a mobile home, received a free new gas range, because the walk-through showed that his oven was not working. It was determined that the range was essential for the family’s well-being. The Home Depot donated a new range and special gas fittings, as well as installing the range for free. The funding of the remainder of his property needs continues. 1 Veteran homeowner has a newborn baby born with several heart defects. Doctors tell the family the baby’s chances of survival are better if there is even temperature and air quality control in his home. Since this is an emergency, this Veteran has already received a HVAC system on an immediate-needs basis. The remainder of the Veteran’s home improvement projects continue towards the funding process. Veteran applicants are received daily and are processed as quickly as possible.
