Causes: Education, Higher Education
Mission: The mission of acad is to provide acamedic leaders who share a commitment to student learning and to the ideals of liberal education with networking and professinal development opportunities and to support them in their work as educational leaders.
Programs: Annual meeting: held in conjuction with the association of american colleges and universities' annual meeting, the acad meeting focuses on providing academic leaders with the tools they need to implement strategic initiatives on their campuses. Acad provides content for general sessions, workshops and a deans institute. Attendance has increased each year and our workshops and institute frequently sell out.
career center: in november 2016 acad launched our new career center as a replacement for the previous job listing page on our website. In addition to providing revenue from the job postings, the career center is a new program for acad focusing on our mission of providing resources to our membership and others in the field. For our members, it allows users to engage in job searches, research on hiring/search process, upload their resume and much more. Our career center is a launching pad for future programming as part of the acad strategic plan including plans for a members-only career mentor service - a way to connect our members with a mentor to help them navigate the search process.
