Mission: The american birding association provides leadership to field birders by increasing their knowledge, skills and enjoyment of birding and by contributions to bird conservation. The association supports the interests of birders of all ages and experience. They promote field birding skills through meetings, workshops, publications, equipment and guided involvement in birding; develop and disseminate information about birds, birders and birding; and promote national and international birder networks. The association actively encourages the conservation of birds and their habitats.
Programs: Publications: american birding association produces several publications, "north american birds", birder's guides, as well as other books, which inform and educate our membership and subscribers through regular publication of the birding hobby, conservation and issues related to wild birds and their habitat. Birding guides are available at no cost to both members and non-members on the association's website.
member service: the association provides a variety of services to its members, including the members only publication, "birding" magazine.
conservation and community: provides education services for members and interested nonmembers, primarily for youth to include birding camps, birding awards and general youth birding education as well as the birder's exchange program, a major education and conservation program. American birding association manages birding conferences and other events around the country put on by the association throughout the year.
