Mission: We are dedicated to linking the past to the future by preserving, clarifying and disseminating information about the history of the trivalley region. We enrich community life through education and preservation.
Programs: Education programs: the museum conducts educational programs for adults, school children, scout troops, senior groups and other educational organizations. These tours are inductive questioning based to lead students through a journey time in the development of the tri valley region. Tours and programs include hands-on activities, gallery tours, and walking tours of the historic downtown core. Tours are augmented with written pre and post visit materials to ensure greater participation by the students, teachers and general public. All of our school education programs are tied to the california state standards for education. We see every third grade classroom in the pleasanton unified school district.
newsletter: we produce a quarterly newsletter to disseminate information about the organization, it's programs, it's volunteers and it's collections. In addition, the organization uses a comprehensive scope of media to get the message out about the museum's programs and exhibits - $6,241 volunteer program: the historical society has volunteer program to assist the paid staff in the daily operations of the organization. Volunteers lead tours, do programs, run the museum store, do general office work, conduct research, answer visitor inquiries, catalog the collections, etc. The dollars in the financials are volunteer training materials, name badges and recognition events -$1,744
ed kinney lectures series: the museum hosts a series of monthly lectures from january through october that deal with a variety of topics that are related to tri-valley history, our special exhibitions, or current events. The lecture series is in it's 12th year and draws a wide variety in its audience from school age children to senior citizens depending on the subject matter and format.
