I moved to the Big Island of Hawaii in 2015, and as a longtime animal advocate, quickly discovered there are A LOT of dogs here in desperate need of help. Through other animal-loving friends, I discovered Aloha Ilio Rescue, a tiny but mighty group. They work tirelessly under tremendous stress (for such a small island, there is a massive dog-overpopulation problem here) to save dogs day in and day out. The best things about the group are the lack of drama and the sheer amount of animals they save with such a tight crew of people. WAY more dogs than other, bigger, better-funded groups here.
I feel proud and lucky to be part of Aloha Ilio Rescue!
