Mission: The mission of Aloha Diaper Bank is provide essential diapers to families of low income, the homeless and those in crisis, while raising awareness of diaper need in our island community. Our mission is to help keep our island keiki clean and dry, one diaper at a time.
Results: ●opened its first diaper bank on Oahu in October 2018. ● opened its second diaper bank on Maui in May 2021. ● opened its third and fourth diaper banks on Kauai in July 2021. ● organized 9 diaper distribution drives in 2020 and early 2021, during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic, and provided diapers to over 2,000 families impacted on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai. ● has distributed over 480,000 diapers and 200,000 baby wipes ● provided diapers to over 9,000 children ● participated in the National Diaper Bank Network study on diaper need and its impact on low-income families by providing data on Hawaii families receiving diaper assistance. ●will be opening a fifth diaper bank on the rural island of Molokai in January 2023
Target demographics: families living in poverty and women in crisis, with children ages 0-3 years of age
Direct beneficiaries per year: 3,000 children and over 30 human service agencies.
