Allied Productions and Le Petit Versailles Community garden have literally changed the creatuve, spiritual, and civic landscapes of my life and my community, I would not be the artist I have proudly become nor even the human if it was not for this magically transformational place and the creative doors it opens to its devotees through deep art, heart led management, and radical community building. Are you a young artist, queer, trans, person of color, woman or just lgbtq admirer and Ally? This place stands very good chance of changing you on a molecular level if you spend enough time there. It’s so old school and so ahead of its time. I owe them more than I could ever pay them in return. Go plant some daffodils with them and come see them in the spring and see who else pops up with them From all over the world. What a blessing.
I've attended several of their art and theater events. They're a wonderful resource, giving artists a platform and bringing vital cultural events to our community.
I love the work they do in the community garden as well.
Such a community space. It feels like a home that I don't have here in this country. I'm grateful for spaces that provide art and community as a unity.
LPV is a historically and always radically inclusive, inventive, and dynamic community space. I'm forever grateful to Jack and Peter for their support and nurturing of the Decolonial Poetry Circle/Journal and inaugural Healing Justice with H.O.L.L.A! Circle ~ Process workshop.
Their deades-long commitment to artist activism is a beacon for all who are impassioned about being creative agents of change.
Allied Productions, Inc. is truly a unique and outstanding organization with both strong roots in the local community and at the same time an international scope whose program features a mixture of artists from the neighborhood, New York City and beyond. Plus there is a intergenerational vibe of people working together spanning several generations from various backgrounds.
Allied Productions is a treasure for visionary and experimental art, and a haven for the lgbt+ and artistic community in the East Village
I’ve seen so many exceptional programs and met so many incredible artists that have continued to inspire me! I’m glad Allied Productions and Le Petit Versailles is still continuing to show and promote experimental art and events and looking forward to having this incredible institution recognized for their commitment and community engagement.
Here's an arts organization run by artists that has survived and flourished for 40 years in New York City.
Likewise they has sponsored projects in Hamburg, Berlin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Athens, Alicante and Venice. It supplies fiscal sponsorship, materials resources, grants AND founded the NYC community arts garden Le Petit Versailles which is about to celebrate its 30th anniversary next year. During Covid they opened an archive studio to document the 40 years of their existence which continues to grow and be presented at such venues as the Printed Matter Art Book Fair.
Thanks Allied for all you do and have accomplished. Here's to 40 more years!
This is an important and crucial organization that holds many community and arts events in an exciting and beautiful space. They provide space for singular events that might not otherwise happen. And they’ve created a strong network of support and empowerment for many years.
I started this organization as a way to create a unique forum for artist peers to unite and form a base on which the progressive experimental and socially impactful work would be seen, appreciated, and understood by the public at large.
Allied Productions is an organization that truly lives up to its mission as a multi-media artist-run organization presenting, producing and sponsoring work while providing wide-ranging support services to individuals, groups and other organizations in the production of visual, performing, and media arts. One of the more outstanding projects they brought to life on the Lower East Side of Manhattan is Le Petit Versailles, a community garden that presents a remarkable program of international and local artists presenting performances, film screenings, workshops and events that have encouraged and grown community involvement and participation. A welcomed anomaly within the landscape of community gardens.
I've been enjoying cultural community projects and events put on by Allied Productions for decades now, wonderful organization! Visual arts, dance, music, film, even gardening. Kudos to this org. for it's amazing achieving process too, which will serve our community for generations to come!
I'm so impressed with the work that Allied Productions has done over the past thirty years on the Lower East Side of New York City. They have created such a special and important meeting place for artists from all over the world, who have the chance to collaborate, perform and exhibit their work to a wide audience, some of whom may not be exposed to this type of creative production. It is an artist run non-profit, very DIY, and ever one contributes to make it a very strong element of the community.
Allied Productions is a community based Arts and culture organization based on the lower East Side of NYC. As an artist, a member, a gardener and long time participant in varied aspects of their programming, we have, over the past 40 years, grown together. Allied supports, not only creative projects from a diverse range of arts and artist backgrounds but also offers educational programs to community residents in many stages of life. Vibrant and often experimental cultural programming at Le Petit Versailles in film/video/dance/spoken word/theater and visual arts make Allied a cherished resource, not only for creatives but also for the curious and cultivated.
Allied Productions is a foundational non-profit based in the Lower East Side of NYC. They have supported countless avant-garde artists, musicians, performers and community members for decades, keeping creative vibrancy alive in the neighborhood. Their art garden, Le Petit Versailles, has created a foundation from which experimental artists, young and old, can find a home and try new things. The garden grows both springtime flowers and generation after generation of artistic innovation.
After having volunteered with Allied Productions over the years I can't say enough good things about them. They're such an invaluable resource in for artists who work in New York City, especially for those who are based around the Lower East Side. As a presenting organization they primarily focus on raising awareness to the works of artists across all disciplines who identify as LGBTQ+, Queer, and BIPOC, any way in which I can continue to help raise awareness to their organization and all of the great work that they do I will!
