I was introduced to the Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County attempting to find shelter resources for those who are homeless outside of Chicago. The staff was helpful in giving tangible assistance and soon I began volunteering for a local campaign that has gained national press. The 100,000 Homes campaign has a goal of ending chronic homeless by the end of 2015 and the local team convenes monthly in order to reach this goal. To date, the Alliance staff has been instrumental in linking over 250 people with permanent housing solutions. I respect their commitment to helping those who need housing assistance in suburban Cook County, an area oftentimes overshadowed by the City of Chicago.
The Alliance to End Homelessness in Suburban Cook County is an integral part in ending homelessness in the Chicago suburbs. The staff and members work collaboratively to maximize local resources, bring key stakeholders together, and create new solutions for families and individuals who are homeless in suburban cook. The talented staff work tirelessly and I've always been impressed with their skills and passion for the issue.
