I cannot say enough good things about this organization and its mission. Its founder Vicki Tate has made it her life's mission to give opportunity to young women in our area. Her dedication shines through the amazing work of AWE.
From an Idea to creating the vision into reality. Vicki Tate saw that vision and I am honored to be part of helping this organization AWE, help create our future. To be able to give the opportunity to those who have a dream, but was not sure how to make it happen. These young women are our future and the AWE Members are so proud of what these young women have accomplished . To be able to give a scholorship and watch a dream come true, is priceless. The scholorship recepients are grateful and continue to achieve those dreams and accomplish goals to help the future of this world. Fantastic Organzation.
I researched different organizations and attended events to see if it was a fit. When zi attended an AWE meeting, I knew zi found my match. A great group of ladies all working towards an amazing goal. I love that the group gives back locally.
Vicki Tate started AWE 4 years ago and has put together an amazing group of professional women to help Palm Beach County young women in high school to continue their education in order to attain their lifetime goals. This group has been SO SUCCESFUL!
The first year AWE was able to award one scholarship to a very deserving young lady in order to help her to pay for her college education. This year, a few days ago, AWE was able to award 20 young ladies with a scholarship. So much growth in such a short period of time. I am proud to be a member of AWE and to watch these young ladies succeed.
This organization and the group of women are the most amazing group that have the biggest hearts I've ever met. They are determined to make a difference in the young lives of women growing in the Palm Beach County area and have succeeded 110% plus. Please get involved in this amazing organization and the women, and are such a wonderful as support system for everyone in the area.
“She believed she could, so she did!” What better way to describe Vicki Tate, the founder of AWE. Coming from a long line of visionaries and generous donors, I had the honor of receiving grants from Vicki’s family; money that brought life, education and the arts to my small community program. A strong business woman and an adoring recipient, we developed a friendship that has spanned many years across many miles. It did not surprise me when Vicki shared her idea (Ubering our way to the theater) of recruiting successful women to help raise money for scholarships, encouraging and supporting young women in her own community, to attend college. A sisterhood of powerful women empowering younger women to follow their dreams. So Vicki! The remarkable women who volunteer and the amazing young scholarship recipients, more each year, represent the incredible success of AWE. AWE inspiring and totally AWEsome, ”they did and they will!” 5 stars are not nearly enough.
What an incredible organization. I am a strong believer that you start at home, in your own communities and that is exactly what AWE does. They are assisting women through scholarships the opportunity to continue on the path of their dreams. I had the chance to read the goals of this years recipients - impressive is putting it mildly. The young women that AWE honored with scholarships this year are outstanding. They have picked fields, medicine, research, law enforcement but the one common thread is that they all want to succeed in order to give back. I will continue to donate to this organization because they are giving young women the opportunity to succeed.
Shortly after moving to Florida, I was encouraged to visit an AWE meeting by a Board member. I am so pleased to have done so! I have always had an interest in Education and the Environment. It is very gratifying to have an opportunity to support young women as they move from their high school years to higher education. Often from challenging situations, their mettle and reserve are to be admired and supported. I am grateful to the AWE Board for their pursuit, assuring opportunities for young women with ambition to further their educations.
This non-profit's efforts go beyond its goal of offering scholarships. It is a cohesive group of forward-thinking women with a great sense of camaraderie. Having opportunities to gather beyond our monthly meetings provides an incredible familial bond.
Four years ago, sitting around my friend’s dining room table at a delightful brunch with a few of her friends, AWE was born. Vicki, the mastermind of it all, wanted some of her most trusted friends to meet each other. She was perplexed that none of us knew each other and thought, these women - my friends - are all successful in their own independent ways and they should know each other; they can enrich each other perhaps in a variety of ways...be it new friendships or business dealings, etc. And, as the saying goes, the rest is history. Vicki laid out her passion about bringing women together in a unique “networking” strategy that would be combined with a charitable purpose - to help young women reach their dreams of getting (and affording!) a college education. We were all in. Today AWE is a thriving, membership-driven, all-volunteer organization, methodically growing and increasingly giving back to the young women in Palm Beach County through scholarships.
After leaving my position as an Educational Program Director at another nonprofit organization, I still wanted to find ways to serve my community. One of my students from my prior affiliation received a scholarship from AWE and invited me to join her at the award ceremony. During the event, I felt how genuine everyone's intentions were. This can be very rare in the nonprofit world. This group of women really wanted to do all that they could do to serve these deserving young women. I got in contact with Vicki shortly after to find out how I can get involved. She allowed me to volunteer as the Student Coordinator because of my past experience. I enjoy serving with this organization and am proud to be apart of its growth. The young women that I get to work with are dedicated, smart, hardworking, and so much fun. This organization serves to make sure that although circumstances may be against the people in our communities, they still get a fighting chance. I can't think of anything more essential in this world today.
The Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) is one of the most impressive non-profits I’ve been involved with. This all-volunteer group of women came together to both network professionally and support the community by raising funds to award college scholarships to promising young women of need. Through word of mouth, a passion to pay it forward, and active engagement AWE has made an enormous impact on the lives of its members and young scholarship recipients. Borne out of a shared vision of doing good by supporting other women, AWE truly lives up to its motto, “She believed she could, so she did.”
AWE is such an incredible organization and honored to be a part of it. It is so nice to work with a great group of professional and like minded women that want to make a difference in the next generation of young women. It is an honor to recognize these young ladies who have overcome life obstacles and still had amazing achievements in school with scholarships as they pursue their education. Talk about making a difference in so many ways!
Alliance of Women Executives ( AWE)
Is a great example of women helping each other! We are a diverse group of women giving back to our community. We do this by raising money for scholarships for young women in Palm Beach County, Florida attending local colleges. We also network and share our experiences with each other to help grow our businesses. It’s a great combination!
This organization exemplifies what it means to support young women with the greatest need and ambition to succeed!
The greatest gift you can give a girl or young women is an education. It changes their entire future path to one of financial, personal, and intellectual independence. Unfortunately for many the costs of higher education make it seem like a far away dream.
AWE has taken the steps to help these young ladies make that dream a reality. Watching AWE begin as an idea and turn into such an amazing organization has been incredible. Vicki Tate and the AWE team have turned real passion and experience in the professional working world into a platform to help the next generation gain a head start. Through scholarships and networking partnerships with local executives, women are given the essential tools to make a degree a reality.
As a mother of three girls myself and a daughter of Vicki Tate, the pride and joy I see from this program is indescribable. Young women are the future of our world. They are the next generation’s power players, innovators, and leaders. It’s our job to make sure they have every chance to become all they can be. AWE strives to do just that and help young women succeed.
Just a few short years ago, the Alliance of Women Executives ("AWE" for short) started with a desire to help local women of promise achieve their dreams. The women of AWE network with a charitable purpose and that purpose is to award annual scholarships to young women from Palm Beach County who will attend college in Palm Beach County – either at FLORIDA ATLANTIC UNIVERSITY or PALM BEACH STATE COLLEGE.
There are many factors that make it prohibitive for youth in our community to pursue their dreams of a higher education. The spike in college tuition costs, the cuts to financial aid for students and soaring student loan debt placed on today’s youth make it nearly impossible for many to continue education after high school. Working students, single moms, families on tight budgets and youth aging out of foster care find their dreams harder and harder to attain.
The Alliance of Women Executives helps these deserving young women take the next step in their lives with academic scholarships. Awarding checks to these girls, helping make their dreams come true, and giving them the opportunity so many of us have taken for granted, has been powerful and life-changing for all of us in the organization.
I am humbled and proud to be a part of the Alliance of Women Executives.
After moving to Palm Beach County several years ago, I was looking for ways to give back to the community, and especially to help young women. AWE was a perfect fit; a wonderful organization which helps young women attain the dream of higher education. Our membership is a diverse group of professional women sharing experiences, helping each other, while Also helping others less fortunate. Each one of our scholarship recipients exhibits outstanding qualities. The opportunity to receive a higher education is something every child should have. Our mission is doing our part for those deserving young women to have that opportunity.
To quote Nelson Mandela;
“ Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world” These young women want to do just that! Learn more about us, donating and/or becoming a member at: www.aweinc.org
Alliance of Women Executives [AWE] serves up business acumen in a supportive networking environment while awarding college scholarships to deserving high school girls in our community. Benefitting from the experiences of other women professionals while supporting and uplifting the next generation is profoundly rewarding. Empowering others is a gratifying experience, and education is an opportunity multiplier! Help us do the math and send more girls to college!
Education is the foundation for success in all areas of life. The Alliance of Women Executives (AWE) has a mission that is hard not to love. We raise money for scholarships to support young entrepreneurial women in our area to continue their higher education at our local colleges.
Our applicant essays are eyeopening as to the challenges that our youth often face. They are passionate, committed, smart young ladies who already have a purpose in life but need a bit of help to get there. Some of the essays are heartbreaking, relaying difficult stories from their childhood that many of our members cannot begin to imagine. It is extremely rewarding to help these young women - many of whom are the first in their family to attend college.
I joined a couple of years ago and have become so enamored with the mission that I now serve on their Board as Director of Communications. I love promoting AWE and have happily introduced many of my professional associates to our cause and several have become members - all are now committed to our cause.
There are many, many nonprofits in South Florida who vie for donations. Having spent a career in Palm Beach County for over 20 years in the nonprofit sector, I strongly validate the worthiness of this one and encourage you to visit our site and please join us or consider donating. www.aweinc.org
