Mission: To provide leadership in developing the thousand oaks civic arts plaza as the principal cultural center of our community for the performing and visual arts. "leadership" is defined by: fundraising, advocacy, grants & allocations, performing & visual arts education, arts awards & recognition, and marketing & promotions.
Programs: Programming and allocations - this program provides grants to groups in the performing arts including the residential groups of the thousand oaks civic arts plaza. Kids and the arts program - alliance for the arts supports underserved elementary school children with the opportunity to attend select children's performances at no charge through its kids and the arts school outreach program. Yearly, approximately 4,000 deserving children receive free admission and bus transportation to performances.
