Programs: One of the objectives of the foundation is to encourage and enable local community concern organizations with their efforts. In furtherance of that objective, during 2014, the foundaiton began leasing (with an option to purchase) 15+ acres of real estate that is sub-leased on a long term basis for a nominal amount, to a local charitable organization (conetoe family life center). The land is used for a community garden. The garden is planted, cared for, and harvested by area youth, and is designed to promote healthy eating habits in the community (reducing illness), to provide job skills and training for the young people, which includes the resposibility of selling produce from the garden to raise money for the conetoe family life center, and to be an alternative to gang membership, an issue in this area.
