Causes: Environment
Mission: A-list is an independent, non-profit, industry initiative that seeks to move the direction of turfgrass breeding toward sustainable varieties that perform their intended function with fewer or minimal maintenance inputs, thus benefiting the environment.
Programs: A-list's primary focus is to test and evaluate through independent university cooperators, varieties commercially available from our members for low input sustainability. The aim is to identify grass seed varieties that require less input then normally applied, (i. E. Water, fertilizer and chemicals) while still maintaining acceptable turf quality to professional users (i. E. Sports turf managers, golf course superintendents, sod farmers and lawn/landscape professionals) and home owners. The members are then able to market these varieties with the a-list approved stamp and differentiate them in a marketplace of commodities often demanding a premium.
