Mission: The primary exempt purpose for the aasc, inc. Is to provide needed services including but not limited to meals, activities and other services and to serve as a focal point for social activities for senior citizens to keep them active.
Programs: The principal exempt purpose for the aasc, inc. (center) is to provide needed services including meals and to serve as a focal point for social activities for senior citizens. On a regular basis our center provides a number of services to all residents age 55 and over in the community regardless of income but concentrating on low-income individuals to provide much needed basic services. These services include but are not limited to: flu injection clinics, pneumonia clinics, legal aid, eye screening for cataracts and glaucoma, hearing tests, bi-weekly blood pressure readings, etc. The number of clients serviced range from 200 for the injection clinics to two to five per month for legal aid, eye and hearing clinics. The meal program at the center is a successful endeavor and a measure of achievement worth noting. The center provides over 2,690 individuals with well planned nutritious and balanced meals. The socialization derived from eating out with others is immeasurable. Additionally, the center provides a monthly newsletter and informational pamphlets pertaining to all aspects of aging. Immeasurable achievements include the continued well-being of our citizens which we strive to achieve by offering classes and seminars related to senior needs, exercise classes, line-dancing, nature trail walking, etc.
