In October 2024, I reached out to my rescue community with an urgent plea for help with three cats whose owner passed away. The owner who had lived in an apartment with his teenage son. Now that he had passed, the boy had until the end of the month to move and find a home for the cats. Unfortunately, where the young boy was going, he could not take the cats with him. Heartbroken, the boy who had made a promise to his dad to take care of his cats, had been calling rescues as far as fifty miles away, but could not get anyone to take them. If he couldn’t find help, his only option would be to take them to the pound. With only two days left, Linda from Alleycats & Aristocats got word of the situation and reached out to me to say that even though they were full, they would make room to help these orphan kitties.
Linda and the team were wonderful in spite of a few challenges. One being, Expresso, the owners 2 yrs old female who was closest to him and was grieving badly. She was scared, withdrawn, wasn’t getting along with other cats and to top it off, had a bad teeth and was in a lot of pain. They weren’t sure if she was going to be adoptable, but they did not give up on her! Within the first month two of the cats had been adopted into the most perfect homes for them. With lots of love and caring, Espresso, the oldest who was in a bad way, came out of her shell while at her foster home and by January had been adopted… by her foster mom who fell in love with her!!! To say we were all thrilled and overjoyed, does not even begin to express how happy everyone was! I would honestly say it was a miracle.
Although the young boy will be forever grateful to Alleycats & Aristocats for helping him keep his promise to his dad, I will be too. I work with a lot of different rescues and I can honestly, say Linda and Alleycats & Aristocats truly love and care for the animals that come into their facility. They take a special interest in making sure they find the prefect loving homes for each of the cats. I highly recommend this rescue and want to give a big THANK YOU Linda and A & A, you are the BEST!!
PS Linda was also great with giving me updates on what was happening to each of the cats as well as set me photos. I appreicated this so much as I was so concerned about them. It also allowed me to give updates to the son. Great communication!

Hello.. when I started my journey making contact to a shelter , Alleycats was one of them. I wasn’t sure what exactly I wanted but I do know this nice lady, Linda, coordinator answered my email. And it began. She responded quick action. Caring enough to try to seek out which kitten or cat I may have interest in. Although, I always had dogs, I knew some kitten(a) belonged to me.
Linda was kind, attentive, and with good communication. She demonstrated her knowledge, and love to provide anyone of these any animals to a good home.
As the process moved forward, I found the one. Linda was so helpful, answering many emails, phone calls and providing direction for me to help this little one adjust in her new home.
As important as it is for the shelter to be sure that each of their animals are placed in a good home, it was equally important that I work with a great caring attentive person… and that I had!
I have nothing but great things to say about this organization! They made the adoption process incredibly easy and stress free! I adopted my very sweet kitty (dolly) a few moths ago and I can say that she is has been such a wonderful addition to our family. All the volunteers are incredibly sweet and helpful! They can help you find the prefect cat for your lifestyle! I highly recommend this organization to anyone looking to find a life long companion.
We adopted our sweet one-eyed cat, Athena, from Alleycats & Aristocats, and we couldn’t be happier! The team took amazing care of her, and it shows—she’s playful, affectionate, and has settled in so quickly. It’s clear they truly care about the cats they rescue and match them with families that will love them. The adoption process was smooth, and they answered all our questions. I’ve been volunteering with this organization for about 7 months now. I’ve met so many other ladies and gentleman dedicated to the cause. I’ve furthered my education in regards to cat vet care, TNR, and community outreach. I love seeing the positive addition a cat can make on a family.
I have been volunteering with Alleycats & Aristocats for over a year now and they are an incredibly caring and hard-working group of people dedicated to improving the lives of the cats in our area! They rescue cats from all types of situations including cats scheduled for euthanisation at kill shelters. They are very involved in the community hosting events and volunteering as workers as well as running a trap-neuter-release program for feral cats in the area. Most of their cats are in foster care which helps prevent shelter depression but they also have a brick-and-mortar location, Cats Off The Square in Medina, where potential adopters can come to meet the cats. I volunteer by caring for the cats at one of the pet store locations where they showcase cats, I love interacting with them and helping them find homes.
