AVAC really helped my family out when we were in a tough spot! Helped out by providing some non-perishables, and some grocery store gift cards for milk, bread, etc! They have definitely been a life saver during hard times.

I had a client who was in need of shelter, food and other basic necessities.
I referred them to the Association of Churches. AVAC was instrumental in referring them to Allegheny County's LINK, for shelter prospects.
AVAC was also instrumental is providing them food from their foodbank. Registered the family for monthly foodbank pickups.
They referred my client to up one of their a programs to assist them in finding a job.
I definitely will utilize the agency again as the staff was knowledgeable and compassionate.

Allegheny Valley Association of Church came into my life when I really help. Most people don't know what my condition was at that time with having a diagnosed with dystonia. There is no know cure for illness.

Enough about that, I have been in the the hospitality homes program since 2009. I have volunteered for avac for a while. Well, we all need a support system. The staff and volunteers that work at AVAC, work hard and give to the community. All the churches involved in give to the community.

I deeply personally appreciate them for all they do . AVAC has a variety of programs: food bank, produce to people, Hospitality Homes for people that have disability, a small clothing closet, they help the homeless with their IHN shelter, VITA tax site, flu shots, help with paying bills. They help through the food bank at Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. My personal experience with AVAC has been outstanding. I also enjoy giving back to the community myself.

We started to volunteer to fill our time and help our community. We very shortly found we enjoy the people we worked with and the clients coming for food. The clients greet us with smiles and many thank yous as they leave because they are so appreciative. Our churches and organizations are the absolute best. But what it comes down to are the people of our community. We have a fantastic community.

I am a volunteer with the Allegheny Valley Association of Churches Interfaith Hospitality Network. This program connects churches in the local area to become host churches providing a dinner meal, overnight shelter, and fellowship to families experiencing homelessness. My church has been a host church for approximately 9 years. We have witnessed the benefits of the program. The resources and connections provided to the families gives them the boost they need to get on their feet again, giving them hope for the future.

It's a wonderful place to get help. They don't judge you, They make you feel very welcome. They find you help for all things you need done to get back on your feet. All staff Members treat you as if you were Family. They help you forget all bad things you are going through that got you in the situation in the first place.
