I have absolutely no experience with this non-profit! I was looking for a charity to donate to in memory of my niece Jayne. She loved animals, cats and birds especially. I also wanted to donate somewhere in the area she lived (lower MI) as opposed to where we live (PA). My kid works at a local vet hospital and recently been thinking how important human - pet/animal relationships are and educations. It took a few hours of internet searching/research but A.S.K. seems like the best to meet my, unconventional needs.
We’ve adopted two hens from ASK and Sophia has always been quick to respond and support if needed. She has also aided us in assisting injured wildlife and getting them to care closer to us. The work ASK does is invaluable to the community both locally and regionally. We need more rehabbers with knowledge and dedication like Sophia and the ASK team. So grateful for them!
ASK has done amazing work in Calhoun County with chained dogs and low income families with dogs. They are also vital resource for wildlife in the state ran by amazing volunteers.
ASK is one of the most unique organization that I've ever known of or volunteered for! They help almost all species of animals in Calhoun County with some services extended throughout the whole state and the occasional help in other states. They also have a sanctuary for some animals that would have been a casualty of the euthanasia. They service anywhere from 500 to 700 dogs weekly with emergency relief supplies while educating the owners, if needed, to better care for their companion. ASK is a nonprofit organization that operates by unpaid volunteers and very little overhead to ensure that as many animals can be reached as possible! My family enjoys giving our time for such a beautiful organization.
Thank you for your commitment to A.S.K., Shannon (and family)! There is no way that A.S.K. could provide so many life-saving resources without the aide of dedicated volunteers like yourself. You repeatedly go above and beyond to give back, at a moment's notice, to help with both the rescue of wildlife, and 24/7 outside dogs. Words cannot express how grateful we are to have you on our team! Sophia Director
All Species Kinship is the only animal service that does what they do. There is no where to take most of these dogs that are 24/7 chained even though most of the owners want to keep “their property” so ASK works on the owners to try and teach them no matter how long it takes, better ways to care for the animal. They will leave all the tools people need to give better care to these pets for FREE. This includes igloo dog houses, straw, food, flea tic meds, offer free fixing plus free ride both ways, fencing and on and on. I ask Sophia “How can you see this day after day?” Her reply “ I leave each dog better then I found it”. Those words changed my life. I volunteer for ASK. One of the proudest things I’ve ever done.
If you need any advice at any time about any type of animal call A.S.K. Some one will always come up with the answer or a suggestion. We the people and animals of Battle Creek are very lucky to have these folks. They never stop working with the ones they know about and they never stop looking for those who need help. Thank You from deep in my heart. Makes me proud to live in a town with such a wonderful group
Amazing group of people who will do anything to help animals! I had the privilege of adopting one of the dogs that they rescued.
Sophia has helped me numerous times get through difficult situations with my own rescue. Every time I run into a new injury or illness, she’s my go to! I’ve also adopted five beautiful geese from ASK and they’re wonderful to be around!
A.S.K. provides a huge service to the local community and beyond. They have high standards for animal care, and they meet clients where they are at, socioeconomically. They are very knowledgeable and their hard work in helping animals and people and leading by example is endless.
Amazing rescue. They work nonstop. Very knowledgeable of injuries with all animals They are definitely a top 10 plus.
All Species Kinship is an organization that really reaches out to help individuals with pet food, answer any questions they have and frankly is up front about animal care. They are a advocate and voice for the animals big or small. They are literally on call 24/7 and always on the road to better a animal if that means going out of state to get it. I have 13 rescue ducks from this organization that now have a forever home with food, water and treats. I highly recommend this organization for any wildlife questions
This organization is awesome. They will go anywhere, anytime to help any animal big or small and the care that they give is above all. To the animals that they help on a daily basis, the advise they give, they do not judge anyone, they give food and advise on how better to care for your animals even if you don’t ask, I have personally adopted animals from them and I would go above and beyond for this organization, they truly care
These is an honest, dedicated charity. The staff gives their whole heart to their work and the animals receive great vet care and species appropriate diets. I have contacted them on occasion for help and advice and they give honest, expert answers.
They are a truly dedicated group of people whose whole lives revolve around helping animals in need. Money going to this organization goes directly to the animals.
ASK has always been super helpful. They work all hours everyday for the animals. They don’t sugar coat anything to make you feel better, it is all about the animal. I love when I’m able to help them out! In my opinion they are the best organization around here by far and I’m glad to have gotten to know them.
Wonderful non profit that does things right. Such a valuable asset to our communities and true advocates for all species of animals.
I chose All Specis Kinship to Volunteer for due to their dedication to treating all beings as precious and deserving of compassion. A field mouse with a broken leg is valued and would be given dedicated care in the same regard as any creature. A.S.K. reeducates humans and strives to strengthen the bond between humans and their dogs. Although it is heart wrenching work the steps from chained dog to inside companion is often reassuring to marginalized populations that truly someone cares
Teaching people to care for or provide medical attention to roosters, geese, dogs, possums, racoons, fox, and so on is never ending.
I cannot begin to describe all services provided ,all I know is the love and determination of this organization. This is why I chose A.S.K. to dedicate my energy to.
I know that I can always call A.S.K. any time I need advice on wildlife concerns. They work so hard for animals and more organizations should follow their model.
They are so knowledgeable & dedicated to the betterment of not only animal's lives but most importantly the education of their "caretakers" & anyone they can! Sophia really walks the walk, I have the utmost respect for her approach to animal rescue/rehab & passionately defending the defenseless victims of human ignorance & greed.
All Species truly means *All* Species. I rescued a mouse from a glue trap and sent a message to ASK for advice about where to release her. The answer was prompt, thorough, and kind. I felt such a sense of relief knowing I made the most informed choice for the animal in my care. Thank you!
ASK is a miraculous group that sets the standard for animal care and rehabilitation in a mixed urban and rural environment. I am grateful for their existence and I salute their persistance. They have been actively caring for distressed animals for at least 15 yesrs, an amazing record of dedication. Recently, they have been doing vegan outreach, getting local restaurants to do special nights and add plant-based options to their menus. Here's to a great group!!
Great, compassionate organization that goes above and beyond for every animal in their care.
ASK is an amazing non profit organization. Years ago I saw them walk into my yard to check on my dogs, straw bale in hand. We spoke for a minute, after realizing my dogs were not kept outside, they left with their straw bale. I've never seen an organization walk right into the root of the problem, without being asked first but they do, day after day with the dog outreach program. So many dogs get their only human touch from the volunteers in this group. They can be seen at many local events handing out information and educating people on proper wildlife rescue and trying to reach families to bring dogs inside. I can not say enough good things about them. I'm glad they are a part of our community and helping better the lives of so many animals, big or small.
All Species Kinship provides relentless comprehensive care for the most overlooked creatures in our world. Their staff and volunteers are dedicated and committed to helping every animal.
A rescue that truly cares about the health and wellbeing of all animals!
I adopted a two year old dog from ASK and they have always been there to answer my questions and concerns.
My family has been following and donating over the past few years. This is an AWESOME organization and they truly care. They go above and beyond for our animal friends! Thank you for all that you do!!!!
I have to say this organization is the best thing that could possible happen in our area. I have needed there help more than once and they went above and beyond! Everything they do is from there heart and soul and I just wish more people would recognize them and help there cause. All of our species need them!!! I am happy to say I support them and always will!
The tireless crew of All Species Kinship go above and beyond in their care for animals and the people in their community. They are an organization that covers it all and knows how to utilize the support they receive to the max. ASK is an organization you can feel confident and proud to support.
All Species Kinship is by far the best animal welfare group I have ever encountered. No animal is too small or insignificant to be helped at any hour of the day or night. Money donated to ASK is money well spent!
All Species Kinship is a very well-respected non-profit organization in Battle Creek, Michigan, although it is recognized statewide for the change-making work that it does. The direct outreach, advocacy, education, and policy change outputs far exceed any other organizations of which I am aware. The hard work by the founder and volunteers is unbelievable, and they conduct work that no one would want to do; yet, the change that cones from it is absolutely invaluable. There is nothing that they won’t tackle that relates to animals in need as long as it fits their mission. Everyone in the community is helped- families, pets, wildlife, and citizens of Battle Creek and surrounding areas reap the benefits. A.S.K. should be a model for all direct-outreach and animal rescue organizations and they have my highest respect.
This group of people do incredible things. I've seen incredible work that Sophia and her crew does. I believe that this type of animal appreciation and detication should be more common!
Helpful in all animal related situations. Capturing ducks that needed to be transferred to the right rehab center, helping squirrels with mange etc. Sophia is always available to answer my questions
wonderful work...theyve rescued 4 dogs for us... saving one dogs life at the last minute and with excellent training and love this dog is the happiest dog in the world
A truly wonderful animal protection organization. I received a call back within an hour regarding an injured waterfowl. They were the only ones with an action plan to help. Their dedication to all animals is amazing. Animals are very fortunate to have advocates that work so tirelessly for them and with heart.
All Species Kinship is a remarkable non-profit with incredible energy that improves the lives of all beings in the Battle Creek area. Their outreach is exemplary and I can sense their influence every time I see a pit bull on leash on a walk in the community. Personally, I've been helped by them on several occasions when I found an animal in distress by the side of the road. It's a privilege to live near such a group.
All Species Kinship is a marvelous and unique group totally dedicated to improving the lives of all sentient beings. They provide veterinary care, including spay and neuter, to low-income pet owners as well as distributing toys, shelter, and food. They provide education and motivation for owners to interact with and enhance the lives of their pets. Along with this street outreach, they offer a rescue service for injured wildlife and operate a large animal sanctuary. They are a wonderful group and it is a privilege to live in an area with such an extraordinary organization. We give them as much financial support as we possibly can and are happy to feel that we are contributing in a small way to this excellent non-profit.
ASK achieves the incredible. They're an animal rescue and rehabilitation organization that works 24/7, diving in wherever help is needed - sometimes literally! Dogs, geese, they save 'em all! I admire all their work but especially their work with people throughout the community to improve the lives of "outdoor" dogs, in which they often provide food, shelter, and other needed material support. Sophia and her crew take their rescue and rehab mission seriously and always act with the utmost professionalism. Very worthy of your support.
I love ASK! They do amazing work for all animals from wildlife to chained dogs in need. Sophia and her volunteers work round-the-clock to help animals. For dogs, they work with owners to implement the best solutions for the animal, without judging or criticizing. Their goal is to educate and make a difference. They're the absolute best at what they do.
ASK and Sophia have been amazing to work with for several years! They have been fast to respond to the needs of several required rescue cases! Most recently over the past couple of years I have been finding injured birds that have hit the glass windows in my place of employment. These birds need immediate help and calling Sophia has saved these birds. Their organization has been able to medically treat them and re-release them. It is always so heartbreaking to watch an injured animal or wildlife die because no one was there to help. That is not the case with ASK! I get responses from them quickly and they immediately assess the injury and make a decision on how best to treat the injured creature. If you donate to this organization, please know your donation dollars go directly to outreach to improve the quality of life to so many animals both inside and outside our community. Thank you ASK for all you do and have done!! We are all very fortunate to know this service is available.
What an amazing organization! Absolutely professional and you can tell the animals comes first, not the bottom line.
A truly wonderful experience. Educational, professional, and always with the best interest of both animals and their people at the heart of their work. A blessing to the community. Many dogs are much better off for the work that A.S.K does every week.
I was lucky enough to volunteer for a short while for this organisation. It's amazing organization that takes pride and giving the best care it can to the animals it serves..I would recommend this organization to anyone!!
Amazing. I have two former "street dogs" thanks to this wonderful organization!
Amazing group! I got my dog through them and they do wonderful things.
I ran into this organization online while searching for some help to rehabilitate a pigeon. I was ultimately able to find assistance closer to home, but was so taken aback by the lifesaving services this organization provides. They help clients that are financially unable to help their pets, such as building fences to get dogs off leashes, helping with topical medications, and providing straw in the Winter. Please donate now to help this wonderful organization in all that they do. Thank you.
I love this organization. I made a small donation and received a personal thank you from the founder. This organization is constantly sharing the story of its work and its policy activism, and I feel very connected to their mission. I feel like I know that they are fighting for all species every waking moment without much sleep!
No doubt the best animal rescue in Michigan. Always respond promptly phone calls and emails. All kind of animals are given the same treatment without discrimination.
They do more for all animals than you can ever imagine. This city is blessed beyond measure to have them. I applaud them for being willing to go in all areas to help dogs that no one else would. Thank you ASK
ASKs outreach program is one of a kind in the area. Their dedication to animals of every species is commendable. I don't have any doubt that every contribution made to this group goes directly to help the animals. Great organization run by even greater people.
I was around when ASK started, and had the pleasure of working with the organization in the veterinary side of things. They have continued to grow and do great things over the years, and I would help them out in a heartbeat. Great people doing great things for animals. I can't thank them enough for what they do.
No organization or person is more dedicated to helping animals in crisis 24/7 than ASK and Sophia DiPietro.
Very serious about their work, especially with birds. Very well connected to best vets and specialists in this region and beyond. Very aware of best policies and practices, and works harmoniously with people (pet owners) and officials in a way that ensures the best outcomes for animals.
I see all the stories of the animals helped by this organization and I think the work they do is AMAZING!!!! They help all animals and I think the people who are able to volunteer their time are a blessing to them all.
ASK is one of the greatest nonprofits ever. You can be assured that your donation dollars are going to a very good place. ASK is on the front lines caring for animals that the city would let languish and suffer. ASK is out there making a difference every day. Whether it be offering on the spot improvement in chained dogs' lives, or educating others in how to care for and respect animals. Even encouraging people to take their dogs off of chains and bring them inside. ASK is a shining example of what a nonprofit should be, and I wish I could help more.
All Species Kinship does phenomenal work liberating chained dogs, educating the public about the problems with urban farming, and provides incredible individual care to an array of domestic and wild animals. Their compassion does not extend only to "companion" animals, but also to those animals traditionally seen as food. Love the dedication they have!
Outstanding and trustworthy service! When contacted for situations that affect wildlife, Sophia (A.S.K.) always responds back promptly to provide invaluable advice and guidance. Her dedication is inspiring!
Awesome group! There are very dedicated individuals involved who go to great lengths when they respond to urban and rural situations. They have proven to be dynamic when dealing with not only domestic cases, but also with cases involving wildlife.
All Species Kinship is a wonderfully focused and effective nonprofit animal welfare organization. The director and her tireless team are knowledgeable, utterly devoted (responding to emergencies 24 hrs a day), and pragmatic. They never deviate from their mission to help animals as much as they can while also honoring the people who care for them. I recommend this nonprofit unconditionally
ASK is an inspiration and a resource for me as I learn about treating all species with reverence and respect. They are a fundamental resource for our community in getting assistance for animal rescue as well.
A.S.K.'s direct outreach program is a godsend for all animals. So many animals would have continued to suffer and die had it not been for the services that this group provides! They are selfless in their mission to reach these animals no matter the weather conditions or challenging situations and follow through with what ever is needed to give these animals the chance or betterment in the life they deserve!!!!!!!
Honest, helpful and caring people. I asked for help and every time get the fast response and help.
Hi my name is amy myselfvmyvfamily and my pets are all homeless was evicted illegaly left in a coldcblizzard with no where to go i need help with kennal fees shots and neuter until i get acplace for us can you please help us this is an emerdency
Sophia and all her volunteers are the most amazing group people who never cease to astound me. They are out on the streets 24/7/365. I'm proud to be even slightly associated with them. All I can say is thank you for ALL you do.
About one year ago I was introduced to the A.S.K. Group because of some domesticated geese released in the wild. My husband and were beside ourselves with worry for these birds that we nothing about. I was told of ASK and their mission and made the call. Within a short while I received a calla and the ball was in motion to help capture these guys. It took quite a bit of work, time and effort, but the rescue happened. Well during the time of saving the geese I looked at the website and saw what hero's this group of volunteers are. I have been a supporter ever since. Sophia And I are now friends and I feel honored to be a small part.
This group is amazing as they are out in all kinds of weather in the worst parts of town. This does not faze them a bit in their work as it is where they are needed. Providing food, water, and toys to chained dogs and educating people to see the reasons why their dogs should live inside. Taking on injured wildlife knowing what is needed to be done and do it. They are amazing people and many animals have survived and were given a better life due to their work.
ASK goes the extra mile to help the animals and those trying to provide for their pets. The most impressive thing is that they help all animals, not just dogs and cats! When I sport them financially, I know the funds are being maximized and going for direct outreach. These people are out in the trenches doing the hard work, I am honored to supper them!
I follow ASK's exploits on Facebook. I like that they go "all out" for all animals and birds. They spend money on things that other rescues would regard as wasted--and make lives better in the process. I was particularly struck by their tenderness toward the old hen with the frostbitten feet, Henna. They spoiled her until the end, and then saw her gently "home". There needs to be more kindness like this in the world.
I have called A.S.K. in the past when I found an injured gosling. They were amazingly helpful and super prompt in getting back to me, especially since it was on a Saturday. Someone came out to pick up the goose as soon as they could and kept me updated about his health. I love this organization and all that they do for so many different animals!
Community outreach, rescuing wildlife, fielding calls to help people with wildlife issues, and never ending educating of the public about domestic animals and wildlife; A.S.K. is one of the best non-profits out there helping animals (and in the case of domestic animals their guardians as well). Director Sophia and her team never take a day off from helping and giving. Truly an amazing organization. I can't say enough good things about All Species Kinship.
