Vickie12 was sued by AAPI for breech of contract and AAPi won the case. Ms. Vickie is just seeking revenge on AAPI by any means she can. She is extremely vindictive and refuses to return AAPI property (which will lead to yet another law suit against vickie.) Vickie Dick from Beccarria Pa., thinks it is ok to breech adoption contracts then attack AAPI because AAPI proved her a liar and a thief and adoption contract breecher. The Shelter persons review is from Cheryl Hoffarth and she is a facebook cyber bully. Ms. Hoffarth has NO person involvement with AAPi and does NOT even live in the same state. Ms. Hoffarth is mad because Penny had her FB page removed from Fb because of all the LIES Ms Hoffarth has spewed all over Fb. Penny IS a LEGAL Humane Officer and this just eats at Ms. Hoffarth for whatever reason so If penny retaliated and cussed Ms. Hoffarth out then she must have deserved it. I know personally Ms Hoffarth is extremely Psychotic and narcissistic . Ms Hoffarth only operates a dog sitting service in her own home. Ms. Hoffarth has spewed LIES about Penny & AAPI for 4 years even though she was PROVEN wrong she continued relentlessly to attack. So in short these two bad reviews are from vindictive individuals that AAPI has sued and/or proven their lies to be just that-LIES. If you contact AAPI they can supply you with REAL people that have had animals from AAPi for the past 15 years and have had no issues with AAPI. Please do your homework and look into why people place bad reviews 9 out of 10 times it is because they are seeking revenge. Nice try lady's your vindictiveness shines thru and your attempt to cause harm out of spite has once again has failed!
shelter manager review is a woman in New York named Cheryl Hoffarth whom viciously attacks people on facebook then cries when they speak back. Ms. Hoffarth has several hate pages on facebook she uses to attack good people because she personally does not like them even though she has NO first hand knowledge of anyone or any ones org other than what she claims to be a lie. She claims AAPI is not 501(c)3 and we are, she claims AAPI humane officer is not legit and she is. Nice try hoffarth glad to see your still at your usual attacks based upon your lies and not about the truth!

AAPI is an amazing org. I went to adopt a pony 2yrs ago for my kids to let them have the experience that I had as a child with horses. As of today 5 furbabies later, I cant thank AAPI enough for the joy brought into our lives. I send photos to Penny of our adopted furbabies. I love for her to see how amazing she has done with taking these poor animals from horrible conditions rehabilitating them and then giving that joy to my family.
The people that are talking bad about her are only being self serving and vindictive.
Penny has stopped MANY animals from suffering. If it were not for her and all the volunteer work she does, all the animal calls would go unanswered!! The animals have no chance without her, so any person fighting for her to lose her volunteer job that she pays her own money to do would only be hurting animals!! That is how you can tell who is right or wrong!! Mrs. Dick fails to relay any of the facts correctly about the whole hoarding situation, about the horse she was fostering and wrongfully sold or gave away while it was property of AAPI, and also about the dog the Penny was housing.
I will not act unprofessional and give all the facts...Because I do not like to stoop as low as these people and do not want to feed into the drama these people like to try and stir up...We are too busy helping animals to play these stupid jealous games all they do is talk and spread lies online while Penny is busy answering calls and helping and caring for animals
All they do is run their mouths and all it does IS HURT ANIMALS!!!!!!! So While Penny works to save them, They work to hurt them!! She is a Humane officer and has to do things by the law without funds she can't do her job properly. She pays most of everything out of pocket it is not a paid position. It is out of Love and care of the animals and no other reason.
I have been lucky enough to have not adopted any animals through this organization. However, I *have* been sent many ugly, profanity filled messages by the former HSPO who runs this place because I disagreed with someone she supports. She DOES indeed publicly post people's private information when she gets angry at them, and says filthy, vile things about them from her own facebook account, as well as pseudo-accounts she creates. I also saw the post where she was going to kill a dog that jumped on her too much. She personally attacks people, calling them all manner of things using all forms of poorly spelled obscenities for any dissenting views, regardless of how civilly those opposing thoughts are presented. This is NOT how an individual running a non-profit should behave. I was lucky enough to avoid adopting form her. I still worry that the poor horse landed who knows where. Please think long and hard before sending her any money, or worse, surrendering any animals to her. She appears to be seriously disturbed. I've been involved in rescue and sheltering for thirty years. Never have I encountered such an unbalanced individual. Thank goodness.

I adopted a horse from this rescue. The horse was hauled to my home by the rescue president. This woman was pleased with our barn and our other horses. She left the horse here with us and was very happy with him being here. We were friends on FB and I posted many pictures of the horse so she could see how happy the horse was and how well he was cared for. Everything was going fine until this rescue posted on Face Book that she needed help with 25 dogs that she had from a hoarder case. I contacted one of my rescue friends that agreed to help. My rescue friend drove about 2 hours and made two trips to get all 25 dogs from this hoarder. The dogs were signed over to my friends rescue and she had them all vetted and put in foster homes. Penny, insisted that the papers be given to adopters of these dogs since they were full blooded labs. My friends rescue refused stating that they felt it promoted breeding. Penny then insisted that the rescue give her names of fosters so "she" could offer the papers. The rescue again refused and this made Penny mad because they were not abiding by her wishes. Penny then said that the dogs where hers and that the dogs were stolen by this rescue. Penny went as far as to have several police officers go to my friends home. The police officer agreed with my friend and Penny was sent a letter to stop contacting this rescue and spreading lies. I told Penny she needed to back off of this because she was not doing right by the dogs or the other rescue. The rescue that got the dogs, spent over $3800 for vetting as some of the dogs were sick. Penny insisted that the dogs be given away for free and no fee charged. When my friend refused Penny then started contacting the fosters and telling them if they wanted the dogs, they didn't have to pay a fee as per the other rescue, because the dogs were property of AAPI. My friend had a signed legal release for the dogs before they took any of them. Through this fiasco with my friends rescue and AAPI, since I stood by my friend after seeing how Penny lied and cheated, Penny then stated that I had to return my horse to her. Penny used my horse as a weapon to get at me because I stood up for what was right. Penny should have been happy that those dogs all got to see a vet and be taken care of and placed into nice foster homes. But she was not happy simply because the other rescue didn't abide by her wishes. I had to block Penny on Face Book due to her constantly sending messages harassing me about my horse. Penny has multiple pages under false names on Face Book. I had to block them all because she would not stop. I told Penny that my horse would not be returned or removed from our home with out a court order. Penny then said she didn't need one. I have contacted the state police and the DA's office about Penny wanting to remove this horse from our home. I was told not to worry about it because everything had to be done through the mail, not on Face Book and that it would have to go through a court. This woman doesn't care about this horse, she only wants to punish me for standing up for a true rescue. Recently Penny posted on Face Book that she had a pitbull that she needed someone to take or she would have the dog euthanized. She stated that she could not handle the dog because it jumped on her and knocked her down. The dog was not mean nor did it try to bite or anything. Penny wanted to kill the dog just because it jumped on her and as she stated, she was tired of the dog knocking her on her ass every day. I had an attorney look at the contract that I was given when my horse was dropped off at my home. According to this attorney and others the contract is not legal in any way. It was never notarized and was handed to me blank and I was just told to sign it. This woman is very nasty and hateful. She posts personal information about anyone that doesn't agree with her only to state derogatory remarks about them and their home, job etc. Please do not adopt from this rescue and by all means do not donate to it. This humane officer that runs this rescue has been removed from 2 counties in PA and is in process of being removed in the remaining 3 counties she serves due to her behavior. Also note that most of the reviews on this page have been done by none other than the president of AAPI.

I have been with this organization for over 10 years. Penny has saved many horses from slaughter. She is like a horse whisperer!! She understands horses so very well, and has taught me many lessons. Also many dogs and cats have been rescued, and found good homes. I remember one walk when we took along a rescued Rotweiler along with her dog. I saw "Tiny" for the first time, find a stream and how "Panzy" taught him to drink and play in it.
I see Penny living poorly and giving all to feed her animals and get them needed care, neglecting herself. As a nurse-I try my best to care for Penny so she can continue her mission. I am now retired and do not have the money for as much hay. Please help her help God's creatures! With the Oil going Sky High---we will need our beloved horses more than ever!!

This is an outstanding organization. They are completely and truly devoted to their mission of rescuing and placement of the animals they care for. They also are great at educating the clients they serve.
