Mission: The Alice Ferguson Foundation’s mission is to inspire environmental stewardship by giving people the tools to understand, appreciate, and protect nature. Established in 1954, we are a public charity chartered in the state of Maryland.
Target demographics: Helping people of all ages find joy in nature
Direct beneficiaries per year: 4,128 students from 84 schools during the 2023-2024 school year, 113 children and youth through summer camps, and 650 volunteers through our cleanup initiative
Geographic areas served: DC, Maryland, and Virginia
Programs: outdoor education programs for PreK-12 students, summer camps, weekend activities, and cleanups
