Mission: The organization is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes. Specifically, the development, understanding and application of scientific principles involved in the management and stewardship of the cedar lake environment and its watershed, and the education of the local community of its individual and collective responsibilites involved in the effective management of that natural resource. Further, the corporation will make distributions to the organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under 501 (c)(3) of the internal revenue code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
Programs: The 2009 accomplishments water quality monitoring fish surveys (types of fish and problem species, and quality of fish) fish planting and habitat improvement for fish reproduction--weed control water level study and stabilization plans boater safety classes--two community education on lake conditions(via newsletter, mailings, and meetings to all riparians of cedar lake support of environmental organizations in michigan working and cooperating with local government bodies to improve the quality of the lake and surrounding communities building and installing spawning benches throughout the lake three educational general membership meetings with educational speakers--irrigation, fertilization, fish habitat board members participating in public meetings on behalf of the association
