My animal had to be rescued from their so called “sanctuary.” These people should have done jail time for their defrauding of the community and abuse of animals.

I would give 0 stars i I could. These people are finally geting what they deserved.. .after many complaints about the animals kept there. Their animals were CONFISCATED and they were all charged with Animal Cruelty.

Good riddance..

This "sanctuary" was recently (7/10/2020) raided and approx. 200 animals were seized by the local humane society. the case is now in the court's hands. I am unable to show any pics due to the ongoing investigation but suffice it to say that this was NOT a sanctuary by any means. It was however, a living hell for all the animals locked up there....improper ventilation, no a/c or heat, no volunteers or public permitted inside the "prison" they were kept in. if anyone wanted to see an animal it was picked out of a photo album and then one of the family members of the owners would go back and bring the animal out. Sadly, everyone that attempted to educate the public over the last 12 yrs of the actual goings on inside the buildings were bashed and the local community blindly supported these people.....yet none had ever stepped foot in the buildings! If I could have given a negative 10 I would have!!!

I would really, really like to post a 5-star review, but I'm pushing to post 1-star.

I arrived at their location and immediately upon opening the front door, I was nearly sick to my stomach with the overwhelming STENCH of a very unclean facility. Let me share that this is NOT the first rescue facility I have visited - I have worked with animals for the better part of the past decade. But this IS the first one that smelled THIS BAD. No excuse for such an overwhelming odor.

Knowing I really wanted to adopt, I went ahead and went inside. The person I was supposed to meet at the appointed time was not there, so I went ahead and went back to meet my intended pets. I was able to pet and greet mine, and then also said hello and pet several of the other cats in the area. So many sad kitties that need a home ASAP! As I stood there, I noticed some shuffling at my feet. There were two full-grown cats in the TINIEST available carriers. They were attempting to turn around so they could face outward. There was NO room for the kitties, let alone a litter box, etc. I am still struggling with this - it is ILLEGAL and I would really like for the ASPCA to step in and deal with this.

So an hour later and my adoption is finally finished. I get my two new cats home and once they relax enough that I can get CLOSE to them I discover they are both HORRIBLY underweight. Hip bones with no muscle tone or meat covering them. One cat was BORN in their care and at over a year and a half, he is scared to DEATH of human contact. Had they even attempted to work with him, he would have been a MUCH happier kitty - I've had him 6 days and he is already seeking contact and occasional affection. He would have been a totally different cat, if ANYONE in their facility had attempted to work with him instead of leave him caged his entire life. It seems this "rescue" has been a prison for at least this one kitty. He is now running and playing and building some muscle - with a little more time, I am hopeful he will be a healthy weight and not scared to be out of a cage.

Alchemy Acres is a nonprofit, non kill animal sanctuary we all need in any community. Their morals, values and code of ethics truley show what an animal sanctuary should aspire in being. Alchemy is all family run with the help of volunteers, and the community for donations and support. I highly recommend anyone who is interested adopting a 4 legged fur baby should contact Alchemy Acres.

We adopted our dog from Alchemy Acres. I was a brand new dog owner and everyone was so helpful and willing to answer my many questions. Petey had come to Alchemy Acres in bad condition but Alchemy nursed him back to health and now he has been with us for 1-1/2 years. We continue to support this wonderful Animal Sanctuary!!

This is a no kill non transfer animals sanctuary that is run by a small town family. They have dedicated their lives to this sanctuary and vowed to help as many animals (domestic and wildlife) as they are able to. They count on donations to help support the needs of the shelter however they have sunk everything they own into this facility to make it the best possible living arrangement while they look for that animal's forever home. There is not another shelter around that has the morals they have nor a heart as big as theirs. Thank you to all who donate and support Alchemy.

Since 2005 all of my pets have been from Alchemy Acres. They know the animals personalities and backgrounds. They truly put their hearts, souls, and lives into their work at Alchemy. There cannot be another animal care facility that cares as much for the animals in their care than Alchemy Acres!!

Highly recommend this place. These people put their heart into saving animals that otherwise would have a horrible time surviving. Have adopted my cat and my dog from them . They are true animal lovers.

Alchemy Acres is a caring, remarkable animal sanctuary. We lost our 110# American Bulldog Tank in August ... I cried for months and searched the internet for the perfect dog ... I found him on the Alchemy Acres site on December 29th and he was making himself at home on our sofa on January 2nd. Peyton is a 61# Dalmation/Bulldog mix with big soulful eyes, puppy playfulness, and a true love bug of a dog. His initial vet check confirmed he was in great health; Alchemy Acres took very, very good care of him. I would recommend this Animal Sanctuary to anyone looking for a furry companion. Thank you to all the folks at Alchemy Acres!

Alchemy Acres is an exceptional animal rescue organization and sanctuary. The staff and volunteers are very compassionate and caring. Their main priority is to find loving homes for the animals where they will be well cared for on a permanent basis. They do a very good job with this goal. I adopted two dogs from Alchemy Acres on two separate occasions and was so pleased with the staff's diligent attention and assistance. One of the dogs, Bella, was a "special needs" rescue with only three legs. She now loves playing with her other three canine "siblings" in my house. I would not hesitate to adopt another animal from Alchemy Acres and highly recommend them to prospective adopters!

Alchemy Acres is a place I hold near to my heart. I was 14 years old when my family embarked on this adventure. Together we (the Sacco family/Alchemy Acres) have overcome some very trying times. But the responsibility of these animals and all of their needs have held us all close together even through our own adversities. The animals have provided therapy to our family and allowed us to heal from great losses. By helping these animals in need, they have brought many people in to our lives as well. Some we now call family. Alchemy works tirelessly to help both animals and people. From where I am standing- we have made a difference. But there is still much work to do, and speaking as a Sacco we will keep giving everything we have to continue our mission.

The Alchemy Family is the most caring, compassionate people I have ever met. The love they have for every animal that walks in to their door is unconditional and truly amazing. They have hearts of gold. We adopted a gorgeous German Shepherd mix from Alchemy over a year ago. I still call them with many dog related questions I may have. They are always there to listen and give me the proper advice. What a wonderful Sanctuary!

The amount of work. Dedication. Love and sympathy for life this establishment has donated to animals AND people is astounding! I started out as a donor. And, then a adoptee. And soon by adoration became a very minor volunteer. The dedication and courage of this organization always keeps me in awe... Stand back awe! It is not just a day thing for them. They are committed 24/7-48/14 taking on tasks further than most of us can reach! You would never know it by just talking to them... they are all humble and overly committed in what they do and how they foresee what they choose to accomplish. And, yet... THEY ACCOMPLISH! I honestly bow down to each and every one of them and feel ashamed that I cannot promote them more for what they deserve! These people deserve so much recognition, love and more!!!

Alchemy Acres has always held a special place in my heart and I'm honored to live in the same area as such an amazing organization. I've had many experiences with them and have seen my community lean on them countless times.
Most recently I had a friend bring home her newborn son and watched as her very loved dogs revolted against the new family dynamic. It was heart breaking for them. They tried training and retraining the dogs and desperately soaked in any advice they could find, but ultimately their furry family members just weren't happy in a home with a newborn baby.
She then started a heart wrenching search for a safe and happy home willing to take in both dogs together. After months of searching it became apparent that she may never find someone willing and able to take in her two large middle aged dogs. That's when she decided to reach out to shelters. She spoke to several different places and by the end of those conversations Alchemy Acres was the only option. Not because they were the only shelter willing to take in her loved dogs, but because they were the only shelter that truly seemed to care. She knew that they would love and care for her two dogs just as she wished she could.
Alchemy Acres is an amazing and irreplaceable part of the community. If every shelter and sanctuary aspired to be more like them the world would be a better place.

My husband and I found an abandoned baby kitten that was obviously sick. As it was a Saturday, all the vets in our area were closed. I called Katie at Alchemy and she never hesitated. We took the kitten to her and she doctored him through the weekend and had him at a vet on Monday morning. While the kitten did eventually lose it's eyesight due to a severe infection, Katie's love, hard work and dedication to animals, saved this kitten's life. He has since been placed with a loving family. Both Katie, her family members and their volunteers are an amazing group. They work tirelessly, day and day, caring for lost, abandoned and abused animals and strays. I would highly recommend Alchemy Acres to anyone looking for a pet to love.

Alchemy Acres Animal Sancturay Inc. is a local family run business. I have been pleased to know the Sacco family for quite some time. They're very clean, honest, hard working people. Including the business, volunteers and friends who help make Alchemy the best they can be for the communities they help serve. Alchemy started and always will continue to be a Non-Kill, Non-Transfer, Non-Profit organization. They rely heavly on donations which all profits goes strickly towards the needs of the animals they help rescue. I highly recommend everyone take the time from their busy lives to stop, visit, and help support Alchemy's selfless mission. Who knows you and your household may even fall in love with a fury four legged family member that Alchemy has grown to love and care for just the same as I know you will.

Alchemy Acres is an amazing organization with a passion for rescuing animals - domestic animals, some farm animals, exotic pets, and even native wildlife rehabilitation. It was begun by a small local family, who still runs it with the help of volunteers. I have known the founder, Julie for more than 45 years and there is no one who works harder and is more impassioned about animal rescue. She has inspired her entire family who work tirelessly along side her to care for hundreds of animals daily. As a no-kill, no-transfer sanctuary, these animals have found a safe haven … if they are not adoptable, they can reside at Alchemy Acres for their entire lives if needed - wow!

I remember that even in high school Julie made a deal with the local shelter to take all of the puppies so that they wouldn’t be killed. At one point, she had 17 and found homes for all of them. She has NEVER let up!

If you want a pet, if you want to donate, if you want to volunteer, I can’t imagine a better place! Alchemy Acres is an amazing organization!

I began volunteering with this rescue many years ago when I read a newspaper article about all the animals tthe Sacco family from Alechemy Acres were helping. There were dogs, cats, turtles, rabbits, llamas, goats and just about any animal that needed a place to stay. They opened their hearts and their money to help every abandoned, abused and sick creature that came into their path. When donations were down, they took from their own paychecks because they were committed to do all they could to help suffering animals that no one else would take.

I remember reading a story about a dog in my area who had been hit by the owner's motorcycle. This caused much pain and injury to the dog's spine and back legs. The dog was not given any Vet care and was left to suffer alone in the yard. The police were notified when the neighborswatched as the poor dog would crawl to the bus stop to greet the kids coming home. The dog was removed from the home and Alchemy Acres was the only one who would take this dog and work with her. It took a long time to get this emaciated, injured girl, they named Hope, to the point of a good weight and where she could walk again! She has some problems with her bladder still but the Sacco family continues through the years to give this girl a good life where she will never suffer again.

There are so many stories of how Alchemy Acres no-kill shelter has helped the worst of the worst abandoned dogs and cats and yet continue in their work to find them homes and love because everyone of them deserve it.
