Mission: Alaskan Malamute Rescue of New Mexico (AMRNM) was established in 2000 in response to the need to find adoptive homes for the ever-increasing number of abused, unwanted or improperly placed Alaskan Malamutes in New Mexico. AMRNM is comprised entirely of volunteers who assist in the rescue and placement of Alaskan Malamutes throughout New Mexico. AMRNM participates in nationwide placement as well, shipping dogs to homes in other parts of the country when necessary. Much of AMRNM's efforts are directed toward educating the public about Alaskan Malamutes and the difficulties of living with a Northern breed dog. AMRNM's goal is to avoid ever having Alaskan Malamutes require rescue by educating people who are considering the acquisition of one of these dogs.
