Causes: Public Finance, Taxation & Monetary Policy
Mission: Arise is a coalition of religious, community, and civic groups that promote national and state policies to improve the lives of low-income people.
Programs: Policy analysis: the policy team analyzed proposed and current laws to assess their effects on low-income alabamians. This year arise produced 12 legislative updates, six newsletters and 7 fact sheets and issue briefs.
organizing: we strengthen our coalition by deepening member involvement. We host educational workshops, listening sessions and other meetings where the public can discuss poverty issues and consider policy solutions. Acpp organizers held 109 meetings across alabama.
advocacy: we continue to expand our e-advocacy network. It's a quick and effective way to help people learn about our issues, inform others and advocate for policy change. It builds on our in-person work and gets even more people involved in the democratic process.
