Dar-us-Salaam is a welcoming space that invites people from all backgrounds to come together to worship Allah. This community is like none other as it promotes unity, strength, support, and beneficial knowledge. It's the members from this community that helped us adjust to the transition of moving here as they showered us with unfaltering support and kindness.
Dar us-Salaam is not just a typical Islamic center, it's a FAMILY center. It's like a little village: everybody knows everybody, and if they don't know you yet, they will, because they're quick with a smile and a "salaam!" There are lots of programs for learning, worship and fun, whether you're 6 or 60. And you don't have to send your kids overseas to memorize Quran! Al Huda School has a successful hifzh program, and is the only accredited, pre-K through high school, full-time Islamic school in the area. They really help you and your family become the kind of Muslims you want to be.
Al-Huda Inc has been my go-to place for the past fifteen years. They provide holistic services to the College Park community. They provide a rounded education and care for their students beyond just their academic goals. Al-Huda also provides social services to community members. Birthdays, Weddings, funerals - they are there for their community. When I was sick, Al-Huda sent food for my family and made a list of people willing to send food to us. They go above and beyond to look out for the community and will provide services to anyone who seeks help.
What I know about Al-Huda School is that its an excellent example of what an Islamic school should be. They put emphasis on building balanced personalities who excel in their religion, in the world, and in their moral character and values."
Al-Huda incorporated is a great organization that strives to serve humanity by applying the beautiful teachings of Islam. Every person be they youth, adult, elderly, woman, or man benefits somehow from this institute and the programs that are offered by them. I've been a part of the fabric of the community established by this organization and have first-hand experience dealing with the warmhearted individuals who hold it together.
Dar-us-Salaam & Al-Huda School are always pushing the goal line further when it comes to service to the Muslim community. The school by itself -- especially the fully accredited high school -- is a huge deal for DMV Muslims. Their counseling services, outreach through projects like the Muslim Link and Aqabah Karate serve major needs for area Muslim far beyond the "borders" of College Park, Maryland.
