Air SERV has been around for many years, getting help and supplies to those who need it the most. Keep up the good work.
I worked with Air Serv back in the early 2000s and it was one of the best jobs I've had. There's nothing like doing something that makes you feel like you have a purpose and if you get to have a little adventure at the same time, bonus! They seemed to have faded away for a while but I'm really excited to see that they seem to getting back in the swing. I hadn't heard any news for years but they've had a lot more going on recently. I hope they keep it up and that I have the chance to work with them again someday!
The market has changed a lot since these guys first came on the scene, but they're hanging in there. A lot of aviation companies have cropped up to offer flight services in Africa, but not all operate to the same standard. It will be interesting to see what direction Air Serv goes in the next few years to continue carving out their niche in an expanding market. They've certainly got the heart. I've been using their flights for years. They are a great company with a great message. I especially love that they're training locals instead of bringing in more and more expats.
I've been following this organization for some time. They're really out there in the middle of it. Props to their crews who seem to work in some difficult conditions. I look forward to hearing more of their story and working with them one day!
Air Serv has the capability, expertise, experience and humanitarian heart, not to mention its 35 successful years serving people in need and at times in difficult to reach places to meet with such success. I have nothing but admiration and respect for this organization and recommend Air Serv Global to anyone searching for or having any humanitarian air services need.
Having spent much time in remote areas without health and other services, and sometimes needing a quick evacuation, Air Serv is the one I call. Peace of mind that they will come to the most hard-to-reach places allows more effective and efficient service. In these days of increased security challenges Air Serv being there is very comforting.
I first became acquainted with Air Serv in the 1980s when they were very involved in the Ethiopia famine and civil war crisis. As a humanitarian field program person, and later as a headquarters executive, I have always had the highest respect for the work of Air Serv. They have a stellar record of working in the most difficult and often dangerous complex crisis in the world.
Today they are based in Entebbe, Uganda where they have changed the way international humanitarian organizations think and operate their programs. The vast majority of pilots are African, the FAA certified engineers are Ugandan, the Avionics technicians are Ugandan, the flight operations and business/financial staff are Ugandan . The few expatriate staff are expert in relating to the international business and humanitarian world. Most of Air Serv's work is for UN and international organizations who need their services. Air Serv is a model for how international organizations need to work now and in the future, using the rich array of local human resources.
Air Serv is to be commended for their forward thinking practices in a very difficult field of work. Working in these kinds of environments is very difficult, but Air Serv, serves others with professional grace and integrity.
Air Serv has faithfully served humanitarian aviation missions around the world for 35 years. With its current operations based in Entebbe, Uganda, it has developed and trained in-country pilots, airframe & powerplant mechanics, avionics techs and other skilled jobs for African citizens. I was introduced to Air Serv in 2008 and I count it among the aviation mission firms I support for reaching remote peoples' medical, food and emergency needs and for natural disaster humanitarian response. Take a look at how Air Serv serves others.
Air Serve continues to impact lives everyday. The ebola virus, doctors, and other humanitarian aid professionals are able to reach those that are suffering quickly. What I love about this organization is the quality of in-country leadership. African's helping africans.
These unsung heroes have been around for decades, yet few know their name. These are the men and women who are the connection point to make sure support gets where it needs to go. Medicine and food can't do their jobs if the sick and hungry don't receive them. From the mechanics to the logisticians to the dispatchers to the flight followers to the pilots to the operations personnel, great job Air Serv!
