I have volunteered as a helper in the free AHF heart screening sessions, and it was a very rewarding experience to see all the young people so engaged. These screenings have proved to be very significant in identifying heart conditions that may have gone undetected. AHF also provides in-school programs where trained 6th graders train 4th graders on CPR and proper the use of AEDs in an on-going program that has been successful for many years. I look forward every year to helping out at the annual "5K For AidanJ" event which has raised a great deal of funding to purchase AEDs to donate to athletic fields and other venues.
I have four teenagers, all involved with sports over the years, and Aidan's Heart not only taught my children about CPR, but also screened their hearts, giving this momma peace of mind that the chance of a cardiac arrest during a sporting event was less likely. While my kids were fine, a friend of mine found out about an issue her child had because of this screening and is now being monitored. What a fantastic way to help our community and our kids. Thank you, Aidan's Heart Foundation.
I am a board member and have been involved with Aidan's Heart since the beginning, in 2011. This foundation is nothing short of amazing. THOUSANDS of students, athletes, parent, coaches and teachers trained in CPR+AED skills, hundreds of hearts have been screened, and more than 100 AEDs have been placed in southeast PA and surrounding regions. We are currently working with a state senator to get laws passed and make AEDs required in schools! Love this foundation.
I had the opportunity last year to volunteer with Aidan's Heart Foundation during a CPR demo and health screening event at a local high school. It was amazing to see this organization "in action"--providing an important skill to the community's young people, educating and spreading the word and awareness of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.
The on-going efforts to place AED devices around the community, in schools and youth activity centers and the desire to bring SCA awareness into the spotlight helps our community continue the legacy of Aidan.

Over the past few years, I have had lots of experience with Aidans Heart Foundation. My first experience was as a 6th grader at Marsh Creek Sixth Grade Center, where I was taught CPR and AED training. This inspired me to take a First Aid course in middle school, and continue my training up until now. My other experience, more recently, was with my own non-profit. In September I started my non-profit Let’s Bake the World a Better Place, and since February when I became known to staff at AHF, they have shown me unconditional support. Specifically, Rita Stern has guided me with fundraisers, supported me, and even awarded me recently with an award at their 5K for Aidan J. I have had multiple fundraisers for Aidans Heart, and even raised enough money to place an AED in my local community. Their work for our community is incredible, and I have loved working with them.
We are grateful to Aidan's Heart Foundation for all the work they do to educate our community about using CPR and the AED to save lives. Last winter, our preschool, Copeland Run Academy, received an AED from the foundation. While we hope we never have to use the AED, we appreciate the support of Aidan's Heart Foundation in helping us be prepared, if the need should arise. Thank you!
Every time I volunteer for Aidan's Heart Foundation I am blown away by their amazing work. My favorite event is the heart screenings because it gives parents peace of mind and is free to everyone. Aidan's Heart Foundation is an amazing organization and one that I am proud to be a part of as a volunteer. I always smile when I see an AED in public that I know was placed by this wonderful Foundation!
Aidan's Heart Foundation has done an incredible job raising awareness of SCA for more than a decade. They've helped install over 100 AED's and have rallied many communities to understand the dangers of SCA. We have been impressed by the organization's leadership, tenacity and heart year after year.
I gained the knowledge, skills and confidence to save another person's life through a free cpr/aed training session sponsored by Aidan's Heart Foundation. I am inspired by the impact they are making in our communities to protect those suffering from sudden cardiac arrest. Keep saving lives!
Thanks to Aidan's Heart Foundation and Christa for partnering and training our Church, Grace Covenant, Exton PA , Christa has provided training for AED & CPR to our Volunteers at the Church. We can't thank Aidan's Heart enough!
Aidan’s Heart Foundation offers tremendous community support by educating all about saving children’s lives through the use of AEDs and CPR. AHF keeps Aidan’s memory alive while benefiting so many!Keep up the good work!
We are fortunate to have an organization like Aidan's Heart in our community. In March 2021, we partnered with Aidan's Heart to install an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) AED at our facility. All CCFB staff were trained in the use of the AED to help during an unexpected life-threatening emergency of sudden cardiac arrest, the #2 cause of medical death.
For the Chester County Food Bank and Aidan’s Heart Foundation, this is a wonderful (and potentially lifesaving) example of organizations coming together as partners in the community.
I have been an active donor and participant in AHF since it started. The work the foundation does to protect young hearts is amazing. With two young girls at home, awareness and education has encouraged us to be proactive and get our girls screened for preventative awareness. We love AHF!
I have been involved with AHS for about 8 years now. It's an amazing group with an amazing mission. We provide heart screenings, AED and CPR training to children and adults as well as place AEDs throughout the community we serve. The organization has achieved many milestones over the years having trained thousands of children and adults and placing 100 AEDs in our local communities. It is rewarding knowing the time, effort and energy the volunteers put in to carrying out the AHS mission could potentially save/or has already saved lives where SCA is involved.
I continued to be inspired by their story, their work and commitment to prevent and protect young lives. I love the way kids are engaged in the kids saving kids cpr/aed trainings.
Aidan's Heart Foundation has a very far reach and has been doing great work for many years. They have accomplished so much regarding raising awareness about sudden cardiac arrest, teaching CPR and putting AED's into key places where those devices might be needed. Aidan's Heart Foundation has created significant events in many communities and schools to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest. It's incredible what they've accomplished over the years. Young Aidan Silva has left a powerful, meaningful legacy and has touched the lives - and saved lives - of so many.
I worked with Aidan's Heart Foundation during Philadelphia magazine's Health Hero Challenge 2020. Learning about the foundation and the incredible work they're doing was beyond moving. Every single person who works within the organization is absolutely fabulous. They're attentive, hard-working, organized and most importantly, passionate. The organization's mission really spoke to me and hit home when, during the middle of the program, I suddenly and unexpectedly lost my cousin Dave to sudden cardiac arrest. Their support was unwavering and they went above and beyond to help me accept, understand and process what had happened. On top of everything they donated an AED to my family in Dave's honor. Just WOW! I was/am speechless. This means the world to my family and I and we couldn't be more grateful. THANK YOU! I am beyond thrilled that Aidan's Heart Foundation won the grand prize award. It was truly well-deserved and I look forward to seeing how the donation impacts the community for the better. Keep up this life-changing work, Christy, Rita and team!
Aidan's Heart Foundation is doing life-saving work! By deploying more AEDs to organizations in need, they are not only saving lives, but also raising the awareness of sudden cardiac arrest. I am proud to do work with Aidan's Heart Foundation!
The team at Aidan's Heart is driven to make a difference in their community and their passion has been evident from the time I first met the team. Countless lives have been impacted and saved due to their efforts!
Working with Aidan's Heart Foundation has been an incredible experience for me. I have have so many opportunities to refine my communication, collaboration and public speaking skills. It has been an experience that I wouldn’t trade for the world. I feel that working with the foundation has strengthened my character and taught me how important community outreach truly is.
I am also a parent who has lost a son to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. I have my own Foundation in memory of my son. Therefore, I know how much work it takes to run a non-profit.
Through the Matthew Krug Foundation and Parent Heart Watch, I have worked with Aidan's Heart Foundation for several years. I am so impressed with how much work the Foundation has accomplished while the leaders have raised their family. I am also amazed, and a bit jealous, with how much support they have gotten from their community. To me that speaks volumes about Aidan's family and their friends. Through AED donations, heart screenings and CPR/AED training, they have saved many lives.
Aidan's Heart Foundation is a rapidly growing and impactful organization in our community. They work tirelessly to raise awareness about the real possibility of sudden cardiac arrest in our youth. In addition, they train hundreds of people in CPR and proper AED equipment usage to save lives. We are so fortunate to witness their fine work and meaningful results of their effort.
Our family first participated in the 5k for Aidan in 2014 and it was such an eye opening experience for us. To see the posters and read about all the kids that have passed from SCA, it amazes us what great work Christy Silva has done in the name of her son. There is such an awareness now in our community and beyond thanks to countless hours she and all the volunteers have given to Aidan's Heart Foundation.
I am very thankful for the great work Aidan's Heart Foundation does for our community in keeping our kids heart-safe and bringing awareness to Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Because of this amazing Foundation, many lives will be saved by providing accessible AEDs in the community, training our youth how to perform CPR and how to use an AED, and providing free community heart screenings to our youth ages 5-19.
My daughter and I volunteered at the Aidan J. 5K Run/Walk for Heart-Safe Communities two years ago. Last year, I volunteered and I had another amazing time volunteering. I am so impressed with how they bring awareness to Sudden Cardiac Arrest, #1 cause of death in student athletes. They placed 89 AEDs in the community, provide free community heart screenings to thousand of youths in the community and trained over 6,000 kids how to save lives. This year their 5K scheduled 6/20/20 was cancelled due to the pandemic. I am looking forward to volunteering again for the 2021 5K Event!
Aiden’s Heart Foundation has changed the lives of the members of our community. We are truly more educated and aware of the need for AED’s and how they can save lives.
The fifth grade class at Brandywine Wallace Elementary School partnered with Aidan’s Heart Foundation for their fundraising project of raising money to provide an AED in the community. The owners and I were touched and thankful that our new child care center was selected as the recipient of the AED. The students achieved their goal and we happily welcomed our AED at the The Learning Experience in Downingtown yesterday! Thank you to Aidan’s Heart Foundation for your commitment to creating heart safe communities. TLE is grateful and that much safer because of you!
Thank you,
Kari Ann Perez

The Parkesburg POINT Youth Center received AED's from Aiden's Heart for adults as well as pads for children. The POINT serves youth ages 8-18 years old so the child's pads are helpful. Since we rely on over 400 volunteers, many over 65 years of age, an AED was much needed plus to serve our kids as well. We are very grateful to Aiden's Heart for making The POINT a safer place for our kids.
I have been privileged to work with Aidan's Heart Foundation since its early days and I am amazed at the growth and impact it has had on the community and in neighboring communities. The Foundation hascontinued to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest in our youth, they have trained thousands of people in CPR and AED usage and they have donated dozens of life saving AEDs. As a sudden cardiac arrest survivor and as the national vice-chair of Parent Heart Watch, I am very grateful for their dedication to our mission of saving young lives locally and across the nation.
My mom and I started running the Aidan's Heart 5k race last year. Aidan's story is truly an inspiring one and his family's turn on this tragic event is astonishing. I am in awe of the compassion shown everyday day by Aidan's family and the workers there.
Christy and her volunteer team at Aidan's Heart Foundation does so much for the local community. From training thousands of sixth grade students in the Downingtown school district on CPR+AED over the past 6 years, to helping raise the awareness of sudden cardiac arrest in children.
AHF has also provided life saving AEDs to over 80 local businesses, schools, organizations and sports leagues in the southeast Pennsylvania region, with a main focus of sports fields and businesses in the Downingtown area.
Aidan's Heart Foundation has worked tirelessly to create heart safe communities. The work they do involves educating others on Cardiac Arrest and on CPR and AED use, offering trainings on how to do CPR and use an AED and organizing heart screenings for children and adults. Aidan's Heart is so important to me because I have suffered a Sudden Cardiac Arrest and it is through this organization I am able to give back to those who were prepared and had the knowledge to do CPR and use an AED on me.
Aidan's Heart partnered with our organization, Marsh Creek Eagles, as we looked to expand our safety program. Christy and her team provided hands-on training for AED & CPR to our Coaches, players & parents. The feedback I received from everyone that attended was overwhelmingly positive. We can't thank Aidan's Heart enough!
This is a wonderful event with an amazing cause! Fast, flat & shady course... also 1 mile walk for families!
My organization, Energage, and our employees have been involved with Aidan's Heart Foundation for two years now, through sponsorship with their annual 5K. They are so involved in the local community to promote their mission of raising awareness and education about sudden cardiac arrest in children. The 5K is just one example of they they involve the local community and businesses in a mission that is so important, but often not talked about.
I have been with Aidan's Heart Foundation from the beginning. My business has sponsored events, my whole family has volunteered at events, and I have helped plan an organize events. My favorite moments with this organization are when I see the community response. At a 5K event a mom came to me and shared that her daughter was screened at one of our heart screenings and a condition was found that the family had no idea existed. Because of Aidan's Heart Foundation this young lady is being monitored and this family can now manage her condition, avoiding possible sudden cardiac arrest. At another event we had visitors from almost 2 hours away: a fire department who didn't get enough funding for all their equipment applied to AHF and were granted an AED for their fire truck. They were so grateful for the donation.
I continue to volunteer and continue to donate my time as a board member because I'm excited about the next event and the next person whose life will be saved because of Aidan's Heart Foundation.
For the past few years, I've worked with Aidan's Heart Foundation to help promote the awareness of heart health. In partnership with my school, my art classes create artwork of their service work to help Aidan's Heart. This year they create postcards and I was thrilled that everyone at Aidan's Heart Foundation was able to print sets of postcards as a fundraiser! AHF is always willing to work with everyone in the community to find ways to promote the work of their amazing foundation to help more children and create an awareness for heart health!!!
Aidan's Heart Foundation has made a significant difference in not only the community, but at the state level with their advocacy to protect young hearts. They are truly saving lives by offering free heart screenings for kids, and supplying parks and schools with AEDs. They have gone even further by making sure that kids in the Downingtown School District learn CPR when they pass through the sixth grade center. They are literally creating thousands of heart heroes who will be prepared to help save lives, and have single handedly educated our entire community about sudden cardiac arrest in an effort to prevent our kids from leaving us too soon.
Aidan's Heart Foundation is an organization that is truly saving thousands of lives by building heart awareness. The organization is active in providing education and supplying public areas including schools and parks with AED's. The organization is active in changing laws to make our kids safer.
Amazing event. Lots of very passionate leaders and participants. Event did a great job at involving the community and sparking awareness.
I have worked with Aidan’s Heart Foundation for the past several years, first as a volunteer and now as a member of the Board of Directors. This has given me two unique experiences with AHF, and I’m delighted and proud to say that both experiences have been overwhelmingly positive. The Silva family experienced unthinkable tragedy in 2010 when 7-year-old Aidan suffered sudden cardiac arrest. The sadness, despair and anger that they no doubt experienced was channeled into creating this wonderful, caring and impactful organization. AHF is dedicated to educating the public about how to prevent sudden cardiac arrest through Pennsylvania legislation, informative outreach and free pediatric heart screenings. Furthering the mission, AHF has taught thousands how to perform CPR and use an AED, and has even donated dozens of AEDs to local communities. The public, especially our children, are much safer thanks to Aidan’s Heart Foundation!
We wanted to have donations made to Aidan’s Heart in liu of flowers when my dad passed. I contacted the foundation and they had a drop down option there in a couple of hours and everyone has told me how happy they are to donate and how easy the process was. This is a fantastic organization. I am honored to be able to support them.
We sponsored them for their 5k and they are the nicest, hardest working people! Looking forward to next year.
Since the first time I was introduced to Christy and her team, it was evident that this is an organization with a purpose and mission. It has been wonderful to watch the momentum of Aidan's Heart continue to grow. The enthusiasm that the children who are learning CPR and how to use the Heart Stimulation equipment is amazing. Aidan's Heart Foundation is one organization that surely gives back to the community where we live, play and raise our families.
We are working with Aidan's Hearts Foundation to help educate the public on proper CPR and AED usage. We are the leading distributor of AEDs in the US and are thrilled to be part of this Foundation. It has been a pleasure to work with Aidan's Heart and the people that make them so successful!
