For anybody who has written negative comments about Stacey and/or her organization, shame on you. You are making comments that are just not true and/or fair to the hard work Stacey (and her volunteers) do for all of the animals they care for. I adopted two cats from Stacey back in September of last year (2013), they are brothers and approx. 11 years old. Stacey was so caring and wonderful during the adoption process. These two cats are the sweetest, most loving pets I have ever had. Stacey was very thorough in determining if my home would be best for these two cats. They had been with her for over 2 years and she was determined to find them a forever home together!!! These guys have the best life now and couldn't be happier or healthier. Just because Stacey doesn't return calls right away, doesn't make her some type of bad person. She runs this shelter almost solely on a daily basis. She's usually busy taking care of the animals and their needs. Also, those of us who know Stacey understand she isn't the most computer literate and communicating with her via a method other than phone is really not an option....so.....Why is this such a big deal? WHO CARES? Who is anybody to say she has to be a computer wiz?

I was and still am thoroughly impressed by the love and caring Stacey gives to all of the animals she is keeping until they can find their forever homes. I would challenge anybody to say otherwise!!!!

I as well have contacted her a few times and never received a phone call back either. I actually waited a week and decided to go to a different shelter to rescue a cat. I am sorry, but that is no excuse not to return a call. As far as her not knowing how to function a computer that is not our problem that is only hers. She should not be in business if she is not able to control what she does.

The previous reviews complain that it took a while for their calls to be returned. That is perhaps true. However, the shelter is run by one person. She does most of the work with the many cats and dogs and that is very time consuming. Also, she is not very computer-literate so others let her know when there are inquiries from the website.

I am shocked that people can be that uncaring. Stacey cares very much for all the homeless animals we take in. We strive to find only the best homes and carefully vet everyone who is interested in adopting. Perhaps the people who complained were not found to be a good fit for the pet they were inquiring about.

Recently, I went to China to save two dogs that had been rescued from the streets by a volunteer. I was out of the country and unable to return calls. Maybe a little patience and understanding is called for?

Our objective is to help the animals. We are a no-kill organization. So, if your call was not returned as timely as you might have liked, I apologize. We were probably with the animals caring for them.

And regarding the P.O. Box, this is a small shelter. VIsits are by appointment only. Once an application is approved, then people are invited to come and visit. This is NOT an open shelter with regular hours. We do not have the funds or the man-power for that.
