I've been a volunteer and supporter of AID Atlanta for over 20 years. They remain the premier HIV service organization in the Metro Atlanta area. I continue to support the AIDS Walk Atlanta because of the staff of AID Atlanta. I love their clinic and their programming.

I have used the services of AID Atlanta for years, and I am so grateful to have them in the community. They are one of the only local organizations offering free HIV & STI testing and treatment, and that is such a valuable resource. The staff are always friendly and polite, and the location is very convenient and easy to access. I also really enjoy the on site pharmacy and ability to have my prescriptions mailed to me.

I’ve partnered with AID Atlanta for 25 years, and have witnessed the amazing work they do to help people living with HIV/AIDS in the metropolitan Atlanta area.

Through hosting great events throughout the year, community outreach programs and volunteer support, AID Atlanta continues to be a beacon of hope.

I’ve always felt that the organization truly values the efforts of grassroots fundraisers and teams, as much as corporate sponsors.

Without AID Atlanta, I would not be here today. When I found out I was HIV positive, I utilized their services to get medication. It was a pleasant experience all things considered. I’ve also volunteered for the organization at several of their events, including AIDS Walk & 5K Run. I’ve gotten to know much of the staff and AID Atlanta wouldn’t be what it is without those wonderful individuals.

AID Atlanta is a great no -profit. I volunteered for AID Atlanta with family as grew up. As I became older, I continued that tradition and when I became HIV positive and didn’t have insurance, I knew exactly were to go. The help I received and the comfort provided could never be paid back and saved my life. I’ll always be grateful to AID Atlanta in what they’ve done for me and others.

I have volunteered with Aid Atlanta for over ten years, usually assisting in the annual AidsWalk. The reason I stay close to this organization is clear: the need is still great. The staff at Aid Atlanta are tremendously dedicated to their mission, in providing health care, assistance and education to the Atlanta community who have been touched by HIV/AIDS. Their work is amazing, and they truly serve those who come to them for assistance.

I have volunteered at Aid Atlanta in Aids Walk Atlanta, almost every year since the very first walk in the early 90’s. This group is completely dedicated to their mission. As a volunteer, I’ve witnessed the passion and compassion of all their staff, in their work to overtake this disease, support and care for those who live with HIV, and educate the community.

Dani made it extremely easy to sign up not only to donate but also volunteer. I hate that it’s not the aids walk anymore and now it’s the music festival. This takes away from the lesson and training we are giving to our community about hiv and aids. Hopefully we can bring bank the family feel of the aids walk. God bless

I enjoy volunteering at AID Atlanta because I know that the clients the organization serves are benefiting from every moment that is spent phone banking, supporting the AIDSWALK, and raising awareness of the continuing health issue of HIV/ AIDS in the community. The staff is great to work with. It's like a family. Putting in hours is a joy, and there is always a milestone to celebrate. There is such a strength in the diversity of the volunteers in this small community and always a great sense of dedication to reach our goals.

I sent a donation in memory of my cousin. I received a thank you letter signed by the executive director, and notification that my aunt was being sent a card on my behalf. This personal touch meant a lot to me and I have always heard that they did good for people with HIV illness. Thank you.

I went to AID Atlanta for my HIV test and brought along a buddy who also got tested. While the wait was kind of long, the staff was friendly and worked very hard to work through the line of people. I was called back first, and told my Bud that I would meet him back in the lobby. The test was free, quick, and no nonsense. I walked out with a negative result to meet up with my friend. The counselors were professional yet welcoming.

The first time I went to have an HIV test kf any kind was here. I was a nervous wreck walking in the door. Within minutes I was smiling, able to be myself, and was welcomed. They worked me through the process and even explained what would happen after the results. It was an open place where no matter what happened, they were ready with any result.
Since then I have worked with various fundraisers, etc and always feel welcome and respected as an individual

Can you please stop calling me misinformation and wasting my time. You claim I had a physician appointment but when I had got there you you said I needed labs. I expressed my concerns assertively but I never once said anything unprofessional or insinuating threats of violence.

However I walked away to defuse my feelings of disappointment because I would of eventually took the labs. But this overtly gay black homosexual who must have mental ( cognitive dissonance) illness. Began making threats violence or at least insinuated. For instance, as I was walking away he made running gestures but I immediately turned around and got into a boxing stance. He walks away snapping his fingers (homosexual snap) and laughing if he was mentally challenged.

Moreover, the nurse I expressed my disappointment to, whisper to the individual who made insinuating threats of violence told him, yeah that’s right he doesn’t know who he talking too.

After that remark, which didn’t realize I heard, helped finalize my decision: I’m not doing labs and if you’re reading this, please don’t call me again. I don’t need your services. Besides I have comprehensive insurance. As I requested, before I left your organization, removed and deleted my information from your files.

You don’t want or respect me as a valued consumer, so I’m taking my business somewhere else.

God bless,

I have had the privilege of getting to know this organization and what it does in the community. It is nothing short of miraculous. The compassion that is given to each person they help, I have witness first hand in my involvement. I have also been to a few events where some of these clients have shared their story about how grateful they were for this organization and the people in it. It is truly amazing.

This is a top-notch non-profit. I am involved in several non-profits around the Atlanta area and I can say that this is one that is run with HEART. Having been a Key Volunteer, a Team Captain, and a 5k Walker for their flagship event, the AWA5k, I can honestly say that this organization pays great attention to making sure that appreciation is shown to every one of their volunteers. I've also attended several of their networking/fundraising functions and each time you hear one of their teammates speak, you can tell that they are passionate about what they do and committed to the company for whom they work.

I have been volunteering with AID Atlanta for 9 years through AIDS Walk Atlanta & 5K Run as well as being involved in round table discussions about how the agency can reach more clients and provide more services in the metro Atlanta area. Through the years I have seen their expansion and ability to provide additional services, and to service more clients infected by or affected by HIV/AIDS. I have personally recommended their services to friends and strangers and I was very pleased to hear of the outstanding service they received.

I became a client of AID Atlanta, shortly after being diagnosed with HIV. I had limited financial resources and was not sure what my next steps should be. I was assigned a case manager who was able to help me find medical care and some mental health counseling which I felt was needed. I worked with my case manager for a period of time until I was better and got my HIV under control. I thank him for following up several times with me to see how I was doing.

I have been involved with AID Atlanta for many years as a volunteer and I am so very impressed with the passion, dedication and commitment of ALL the staff. But, what really tells the story of the amazing impact of their work is what I hear from the clients and individuals that utilize the services of AID Atlanta. Their raw and emotional testimony is so powerful of how the people and services at AID Atlanta has given them hope for a better tomorrow. They say, quite literally, that AID Atlanta has saved their lives. That's powerful and that's why I'm a volunteer and supporter.
