Initially helpful and supportive. My pet left the foster family's home the day after being placed. Eventually, the organization staff put the burden on my family to locate our family member some 60 miles away from our safe haven. Still searching for our beloved pet. No contact from organization for nearly a year. WILL CONTINUE TO FIGHT UNTIL MY DOG IS FOUND!

This is an amazing organization! They help victims of violence seek help and provide a sanctuary for their animals while they are recovery and renewing their lives. Most shelters for domestic violence are for humans only and that prevents too many people from seeking help. That's exactly where Ahimsa House comes in! With this organization, they know their pets are in safe hands while they are away. Reuniting animals wih their owners is an amazing thing! Everyone I've spoken to and interacted with in this organization is caring and kindhearted. Volunteers are the fuel behind many of their programs!

Ahimsa House has a devoted staff and a cadre of caring and energetic volunteers that work hard to help the human and animal victims of domestic violence reach safety and receive the services they need to move forward towards a safe and happy life together. I cannot say enough about the professional and life-saving work of this organization. If you care about animals and the safety of women, this is the organization you'll want to donate to and volunteer for.

AHIMSA House is a vital organization in assisting victims leaving abusive relationships. Victims at times will not leave their abuser due the fear of what may happen to their beloved pet. Abusers are known to use pets to make a point about their power and control, especially to install fear.

Therefore AHIMSA House services are crucial because they are able to give a victim the opportunity to leave and take their pets with them without the fear of the animal being left in harm way.
