Mission: The agricultural leadership foundation of hawaii was established to develop and support effective leaders in the agricultural industry and rural communities through a multi-disciplinary leadership training program. This program was designed to expand the participant's access to beneficial resources, build confidence, enhance leadership skills and broaden the participant's perspective of statewide agriculture and shared common problems.
Programs: The foundation sponsors and conducts leadership seminars on agricultural issues in hawaii to develop leaders within rural agricultural communities; hosts workshops and conferences to provide networking opportunities for the agriculture community; and supports youth leadership programs that encourage the involvement of youth in agriculture. In 2017, the foundation hosted the hawaii agriculture conference (ag2017) which brought together approximately 600 participants, including over 60 students and their advisors from local youth agriculture programs. The event included 30 exhibitors, 72 speakers, 2 keynotes, and 22 breakout sessions.
