Mission: Form 990, part i, line i, description of organization mission: ashtabula county. After school discovery (asd) supports children and their families in becoming life-long learners and provides/promotes enrichment opportunities and learning initiatives that stimulate young minds.
Programs: 21st century community learning center (21st-cclc) is a before and after school youth development program for kindergarten through 3rd grade students who attend ashtabula area city schools lakeside elementary campus. It designed to help children grow academically, socially and emotionally. 21st cclc discovery cove focuses on math and reading and includes a variety of interest based clubs.
strive 4 success - is a free 6 week academic coaching program held at the superior intermediate building. Asd works closely with teachers who can provide children with extra help in reading and mathematics to help the students succeed through out the school year. Last year, children who regularly attended strive 4 success showed academic improvement.
summer programming - the summer of discovery program is for students who completed kindergarten through 6th grade in the ashtabula area city schools district. Asd is focusing on "growing" this program and helping to prepare children academically for the upcoming school year.
other program services: other programs include discovery cove which is a before and after school youth development program for k-6 grade students; club 212 is an after school program provided through asd that works with students to improve academic achievement and engage students in fun classes that support their development; waterways is offered to 4th and 5th graders and is a two-day science adventure in the great outdoors; expenses 83012. 00 including grants of 0.
