We love African Vision of Hope! Our family knows that the money we send-whether for our sponsored children or to help meet immediate needs of the people in Zambia-is going directly to where they have said it will go. This is why we continue to give and tell others about the integrity of everyone involved with AVOH.
Our family loves African vision of Hope! When we give to this organization, we give in full confidence that our money is going to help provide educational, medical and spiritual needs involved. We regularly receive pictures and updates on our sponsored children. Judi and the team serve with such integrity, passion and humility. We are honored to serve alongside and help bring children of Zambia out of poverty.
African Vision of Hope is one of the most linear non-profits I've encountered. A ridiculously high percentage of their resources go towards actually helping the children in Zambia that their efforts are focused on. They not only build schools and orphanages, but they provide literal truckloads of school (and other) supplies for these facilities. Beyond that, there is a concerted effort to make these programs and facilities self-sustaining, which is a great long-range goal and focus.
Nothing better than placing yourself where you see GOD at work!!! Going to Zambia on mission is one of the ways I can be the hands and feet of CHRIST to those in need!!! African Vision of Hope is sharing hope with Zambian people, helping to end extreme poverty one child at a time and sharing the Gospel with this lost world!!! Chris Covinsky
Many years ago, I was the one who was willing to support this ministry, but was not willing to go on a mission trip to serve in Zambia. Ignoring GOD’S call to serve in Zambia resulted in my 5th mission trip with African Vision of Hope this past August with prayers that GOD will continue to have me serve there! GOD has to break us in order grow us and he certainly did with me! To quote a mentor of mine, “ I can’t let extreme poverty continue in Zambia on my watch!” My life is forever changed by GOD and my experiences serving HIM thru African Vision of Hope, sharing hope with the Zambian people! Serving JESUS CHRIST, Chris Covinsky
Nonprofits have a goal, and that's to drive our world to a better future. African Vision of Hope is driving that goal, exceptionally.
A ministry that strives to serve with excellence. African Vision of Hope is always looking to partner with business men and women, ministry leaders, and volunteers to develop their strategy in reaching the most children in the most faithful and effective way. AVOH has big dreams for Zambia and is making them a reality!
I have been sponsoring the same child for the past 8 years and have joined African Vision of Hope on a number of mission trips from 2006-2014. AVOH has been able to recognize the main sources of poverty in Zambia and faithfully create long lasting solutions for the people. It is an organization that truly empowers students and adults by giving them the resources to realize their potential. Countless lives have been changed through the power of education, safe housing, meals and more, made available through AVOH
African Vision of Hope is the ONLY ministry I donate to because they are VERY fiscally responsible! Every penny donated goes directly to feed and educate 3000 orphans in Zambia.
It is mainly an all volunteer ministry with minimal overhead. No big salaries for the leadership.
I have personally traveled to Zambia 4 times with African Vision of Hope missionary teams.
AVOH needs our funds to help more children! They are doing an unbelievable job, but need more funds to build more schools and additional feeding programs.
I feel very good about donating to African Vision of Hope because I KNOW that nearly every penny of every dollar goes directly to help the orphans. AVOH does NOT have a large overhead at all. They run the ministry on a shoestring. I have also SEEN the effects of my donations by going on several mission trips with the team. I know the kids first hand and SEE the great work that AVOH is doing. African Vision of Hope is the ONLY ministry that I can confidently donate my time and money to and be ASSURED it is truly making a difference in the lives of 1500 orphans!!!
I love supporting African Vision of Hope! Their dedication to serving, feeding and educating children in Zambia is saving lives. There is an urgent need for help and they are making a difference!
I've saw firsthand the schools that AVOH operates in Zambia, and the care and concern shown to each student. In addition to the schools that they operate, they do a lot of work in the communities that they serve, helping people uplift themselves in many ways. They continue their support of their high school graduates who want to continue their educations either at University or at a Technical or Nursing school. AVOH's efforts are yielding fruit and will continue to do so, and will in fact have an impact on lifting the entire nation of Zambia. I personally know the founders. I have spent time with them in the US and Zambia, and can tell you that there are no finer people than these.
My wife and I donate a fairly large amount each month to AVOH. We do that because I have been in Zambia several times to participate in their projects and have visited their schools, and have saw firsthand the way they operate. Along with helping young people get an education, and helping adults learn skills that will help them earn a living, and providing micro loans or their "Pay-it-Forward" program of providing families with a goat, who in turn provide offspring to other families, AVOH does more. They provide spiritual guidance to young and old, and lastly, they truly love those that they serve. Love is the basis for all that they do, and it shows in the way they care for people, and it shows in the faces of those who are being served. I will also say that they are very careful with the funds they receive and then spend in Zambia. I assure you that you will get a lot of bang for your buck with AVOH.
African Vision of Hope has been rescuing children in Zambia for 20 years . Communities ,families, and childrens lives have been saved and changed
I have been associated with African Vision of Hope since it's founding. The organization has truely change lives in Zambia one child at a time. We are seeing the fruits of the vision that started 12 years ago. There are now 5 schools with 1700 children and will soon have over 100 children that have graduated the 12th grade. We track their success in the real world and many now have good paying jobs and a large percentage are going into higher education through scholarships provided by African Vision of Hope. The thought of a young boy or girl that had no hope of ever attending school ,now being a productive part of society will change the country.
I love the ministry of AVOH as it is changing the lives of some of the most vulnerable people and children in the world. I had the privilege of being on a mission team and traveled to Lusaka this year. I saw and witnessed first hand of the way that AVOH is helping to meet the needs of the children and adults through education, nutrition and health needs. Most of all they are sharing the unconditional love of Christ daily. AVOH is providing many opportunities for children and young people to truly rise above the darkness of poverty that is so prevalent
in their country. The Staff and volunteers are unselfishly giving of their time and efforts to this ministry. My husband and I are thrilled to sponsor children with AVOH and support this ministry in any way.
This organization is doing wonderful work by changing the fortunes of children and giving them a future. The passion they have for the work shows through and you can genuinely see the changes and hope in the stories from the children who’s lives have been changed.
We got involved after hearing about African Vision of Hope from a friend. It’s been about 3 years now, and we are continually blown away by the quality, integrity and passion of AVOH! Last year we even went Africa and met our students we sponsor. How cool is that!!
I've been blessed to be a part of African Vision of Hope for about 10 years now. They've saved 100's in Zambia, not only physically/educationally, but spiritually as well. Their students' stories (going from living in jungle, fighting off hyenas, etc to attending school) are beyond amazing. AVOH is professional, competent, and organized. I've heard lots of horror stories from other African relief organizations, but not one from AVOH. Bob and Judi's devotion, empathy, and selfless dedication are a continuing inspiration to me.
I've been associated with AVOH for about 6 years now, and can say that I am proud to be a small part of its vision. The work they do is Godly and critical. They have a handful (at most) of paid staff in Africa, all US staff are solely volunteers. They are saving lives on a daily basis in Zambia, and greatly enhancing those they touch. Have known of other Zambian missions that had leadership and logistic issues, fortunately AVOH is well managed, and as efficient as it is visionary. Thanks be to God for showing his will to Bob and Judi, and to them for accepting and embracing it!
African Vision of Hope is doing incredible work in Zambia, Africa! I am so excited to see the lives that are being/will be transformed through their 5 schools and scholarship programs.
African Vision of Hope is bridging the gap from poverty to possibility! At African Vision of Hope, they don’t stop at rescuing children, they help restore their stolen childhoods and dreams of completing school. Thousands of young women are living a nightmare, trapped in desperate situations with no hope. Rescue and redemption is not only possible, it is happening. This year, African Vision of Hope opened the House of Hope boarding home for young women. The House of Hope will be a safe, loving, refuge that they can call “Home”.
-16.7 million girls are out of school in sub-Saharan Africa. Of this number, 9.3 million will never step foot in a classroom.
- 40% of girls in Zambia are married before they turn 18. Every year of education changes this statistic.
- 95% of the girls in our current boarding house have endured child slavery in exchange for a meal.
The House of Hope will leave a lasting legacy not only for this generation of abandoned girls but for generations that follow. The House of Hope boarding home will:
• Rescue 50+ young women from their survival situation and give them a life changing sanctuary
• Provide counsel through “house parents” who will mentor the young girls to achieve their dreams
• Empower each girl to reach their fullest potential through primary and secondary education
It is efforts like this that makes African Vision of Hope a great profit.
Since 2006, I have seen African Vision of Hope do many great things for the orphans in Zambia. Zambia, in sub-Saharan African, remains one of the poorest countries in the world. Here are a few of the facts:
- 17 million AIDS orphans in the world; 15 million live in sub-Saharan Africa.
- Zambia is ravaged by HIV/AIDS, resulting in a lost generation.
- 74% of its population earning less than $1.25 a day.
- Half of the population is under the age of 14 years old.
Without parents, orphans in Zambia do not attend school because there is no one to pay their school fees. The children also do not have access to meals, receive proper health care, learn basic life skills, nor do they have hope.
I continually witness African Vision of Hope relieve suffering and share hope. They are working to end extreme poverty and bring life changing transformation. I am so proud of the accomplishments in the face of this great feat. At the end of this month, African Vision of Hope will be opening the House of Hope for girls, where 50 girls have a a place to call home. Without a place of refuge, here are a couple of things they face.
- 16.7 million girls are out of school in sub-Saharan Africa. Of this number, 9.3 million will never step foot in a classroom.
- 4 out of 10 Zambian girls will be sold into marriage between the ages of 14 and 18 (every year of education changes this reality).
- 95% of girls in the current boarding house have endured child slavery in exchange for a meal.
I am honored to be a volunteer with this organization and look forward to my next trip to Zambia to see the progress made in so many areas!
This is a nonprofit that is guided with a Christian heart and a sincere desire to bring hope and change to some of the neediest children in our world!
African Vision of Hope is a true blessing to be a part of! They are changing the lives of kids, orphans in Zambia, saving them from extreme poverty through education. Some are becoming teachers, doctors, electricians, and whatever professional or trade they want to become to “be the change!”
I went on mission with AVOH and it changed my life to continue to help serve them by creating awareness and fundraising for the annual Gala to help provide for their mission! Our family will always be a part of this great organization!
I have been involved with African Vision of Hope for over 5 years and have seen so many lives changed through participating in their mission trips and volunteering for them on this side of the world. Last year I got acquainted with a college student who went through the AVOH schools and is now attending college in Zambia studying to be a special education teacher. There are numerous stories like this one. They are the real deal. The children they serve truly are moving to change the future of a very poverty stricken country. Over 3000 students now attend school that without this organization would not be able to. They come from the streets, many having no families or anyone to care for them. Many have been exposed to abuse, human trafficking, sickness, trauma and things we can't imagine living through. However, these children are able to thrive in our schools, where they are loved, cared for and taught the love of Jesus. It is truly a life changing organization and everyone affiliated with it is the real deal. They believe in what they are doing 100 percent.
AVOH truly is living out the mission of "doing something" about poverty in Zambia. It is amazing to see all the work that goes into the mission here on this side of the world and then go there (which I've been twice now) and see how it is truly changing lives on the other side of the world. The enthusiasm in the children who now get to go to school, have medical care and know that they are loved is amazing. With some organizations you wonder if your donation is really getting to where it is supposed to go. I can tell you that is not a problem with AVOH.
It is difficult to concisely cover all that I know and belief AVOH to be! Lives are being rescued, hearts filled with love, minds being educated, tummy’s with food in them, medical and spiritual health restored, ground turned into food! The exponential growth over this non profit over the last decade is miraculous and inspiring!!! The landscape and future of Zambia is changing for the better!!!
