Mission: The mission of african immigrants community services is to provide integrated community services that help resettle twin cities refugee community by helping them secure employment, affordable housing, and connecting them to community resources.
Programs: Minnesota department of health programs are designed to counter tobacco usage. The intended outcome of the program is to lead to tobacco cessation. In 2017, aics launched multiple campaigns and workshops to educate refugees about smoking hazards including hookah and shisha which have become prevalent among refugee and low income young adults.
social services provides refugees with essential case-managed services such as housing, immigration/naturalization and other community services focused on this particular group. In 2017, we again expanded social services to additional partners in the twin cities area, with more than 50 partners, volunteers, and friends participating, serving 800-1000 people per year, on average.
parent ed focuses on literacy, family, language and parenting skills development.
