Mission: The African American Fund of New Jersey is the only INDEPENDENT Black philanthropic organization in New Jersey. Chartered in 1980 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit tax-exempt agency, we are in the business of providing the tools African Americans need to empower their families and communities. This year BUF/NJ has determined that its philanthropic leadership must be directed toward programs that will empower the African American community for the new millennium. We have fine-tuned our key initiatives in areas that are critical to our community: Health; Creating Wealth; and Technology.
