AFFORDABLE HOMEOWNERSHIP FOUNDATION.
Ft Myers Fl.
...I have worked alongside this organization for many many years...they have grown & have served our community well
Lois Headley, the CEO of Affordable Homeownership Foundation, not only provided me with the tools I needed to keep my home from falling into the hands of a predatory mortgage lender, but more than that, Lois is always open to assisting in improving credit scores, managing personal budgets and many more supports during these tricky economic times.
I would recommend Affordable Homeownership Foundation to anyone that is struggling with housing concerns or even financial literacy to prevent financial trama from occurring.
Lois was great. She fought for us to stay on our home. She worjed her magic and found an affordable way for us to stay. So very thankful ..
Thank you Affordable homeownership foundation for helping us thru a very hard time but with your help we were able to keep our home.
Lois and her team helped us save our home we will be forever grateful.
Irma was my first hurricane, and hopefully my last. I found ms. Lois Healy with Affordable housing and she assisted me greatly. Professional and kind. I have since become a volunteer.
Affordable Homeownership Foundation is dedicated to helping Veterans, Individuals with disabilities, seniors, Youth Aging Out of Foster Care and very low, low and moderate income families and individuals. The work their team does changes lives in a positive way. Their Financial Capabilities Counseling and coaching helps people that have never been taught how to manage their finances be able understand how to maintain their households on a budget and take control of their lives. I have been a volunteer for the organization for the past 5 years and have been excited about the work they do, you too should check them out!
We came in contact with Affordable Homeownership Foundation because we have a daughter with Downs Syndrome and we were looking for an Affordable Housing Solution so we could teach her how to live independently. We found that Affordable Homeownership Foundation had shared housing for Individuals with disabilities for a reasonable price including utilities so we decided to try and see if our daughter could live independently. The experience for her has been exciting and she enjoys having a place to call her own, she is learning to cook on her own and she even had her first dinner in her new home where she invited guests. Affordable Homeownership Foundation not only provides the housing for clients but also handles helping them with resources, and budgeting and other links to resources as necessary. We would recommend Affordable Hoeownership Foundation to anyone in our area that is disabled and struggling with finding safe affordable housing.
Affordable Homeownership Foundation or AHF has done amazing things especially for Individuals with disabilities. AHF is building affordable housing units for Individuals with disabilities and continues to work with Veterans, Youth Aging Out of Foster Care and low to moderate income families, I would recommend them to anyone needing help in our community!
Affordable Homeownership Foundation Inc., has a knowledgeable and well informed staff who work hard to insure that their clients get the best service possible in all areas of home oenership. They specialize in Foreclosure Prevention, short sale help, first time home buyer classes and pre-and post foreclosure help along with budget and credit counseling. They are a great organization!
I am a Marine veteran and after being homeless living out of my car for a month Lois at the Affordable Homeownership Foundation was able to get me into a hotel for Christmas and after New Years was able to get me into housing which I have been fortunate to still be housed now going on 3 years.
We are a real estate company & have worked with the Affordable Homeownership Foundation for many years. I have personally worked with Lois at AHF for 3 years. AFH is a blessing to those they work with/for. Lois is always striving to come up with ways to assist those who would otherwise likely not be able to purchase a home. She is a wonderful person & a great help to many.
My name is Ileana, and I am a 45 year old woman paralyzed by Guillen Barre just four years back.
After 3.5 years in nursing homes I finally moved out on my own only to lose my home to hurricaine Irma after three short months.
This left me homeless and living in a hotel. My only options were to return to an institutional lifestyle of depression or keep fighting day to day seeking a solution.
Finally, after five weeks I met Lois from Affordable Homeownership Foundation who changed my life.
She provided a beautiful home that is completely handicapped accessible and became a wonderful support in my life.
I have been able to recover while working on my health, and all made possible by the Affordable Homeownership Association.
My life now is drastically improved and I feel more than blessed!
I have had the opportunity to work with Lois and Donna at AHF this past 7 months, and I am amazed at what they can accomplish for people in need! Not only do I spend time in the office but I also work in The Squirrel's Nest Eclectic Treasure Shop which is part of the Foundation. What a treasure trove of cool stuff! I encourage everyone to visit the Squirrel's Nest Monday through Friday, 9-2, or online at squirrelsnesteclectictreasures\shopify. The proceeds benefit Youth Aging out of Foster Care and The Veteran's Emergency Fund here in Lee County FL. Lois is dedicated to serving Veterans and Youth and has demonstrated her dedication through her tireless efforts to help the needy! Thank you Lois and Donna for all you do!!!
I worked as an intern, writing grants for AHF, for almost eight months last year, and it was a great educational experience that taught me so much about my community. This organization helps so many vulnerable people navigate their housing and living situations when they find it difficult to do so on their own, particularly because of high rents and house prices. They have programs for veterans, disabled individuals, homeless individuals, young people who have been in foster care, etc. AHF's commitment to being a well-rounded resource for those experiencing housing insecurity is a credit to Southwest Florida, and I highly recommend their services to anyone in the area whose financial troubles or other problems are hindering their ability to remain safely and securely housed.
I have been honored to work this foundation. A nonprofit that never waivers from their discerned mission statement, values, and goals. They are willing to help any and all members of the community. Paving the way for a truly greater Fort Myers. And their service to Veterans is outstanding, the CEO goes above and beyond for this group. Encouraging her employees to do so as well. The range of employees in the office offers a diverse atmosphere of acceptance and cultural.
A moment of your time, Please. Since 2000 , The Affordable Homeownership Foundation Inc (AHF) has been assisting Military and non-Military, Seniors, Physically and Mentally Challenged individuals and Youths Aging out of Foster Care, realize a better way of life through various programs. Programs such as Foreclosure Prevention , Credit & Budget Counseling , First time Home Buyer Assistance , Loan Modification and Military and Veteran Housing, and the Squirrels Nest (2nd hand store). Have been monumental to these groups of people.
Lois Healy (CEO) who has been with AHF since it's inception and her staff are well versed at helping anyone who comes through it's doors with these programs.
Under the direction of Ms. Healy and the Board of AHF people have been housed in the AHF duplex's . Homes have been acquired to assist more people. Donations of furniture, refrigerators, clothing and much more have been picked up by volunteers for sale in the Squirrels Nest. Many times when an individual or family is in need some donations are just given to them.
OPERATION RAISE the ROOF assisted 3 deserving elderly Veterans replace the roofs on their homes so they could remain in their homes. With the remaining proceeds, Thanksgiving meals and Christmas meals and gifts were purchased. And when possible even Santa Claus visited some of AHF clients.
AHF has ALWAYS relied on Federal, State and Local Grants as well as donations to accomplish it's goals. Given the current climate of Budget reductions anticipated from the government sector. AHF must continue to find ways to assist those who have fallen on hard times, continue to age with limited resources or have physical and mental (incl PTSD but not limited to ) situations.
AHF wishes to Thank those individuals who have been our DONORS these past years. We hope that anyone else who wishes to assist their fellow man / woman / family feels inspired by the accomplishments of the Affordable Homeownership Foundation thus far.
AHF can not do it without your generous contributions.
Thank You for your time. Bill Wilcox
A Veteran, looking for assistance to purchase a home AHF was very helpful. Their staff assisted with improving the Credit score to get a better rate for the mortgage. Their First Time Home Buyers class was VERY informative. I recommend them to anyone looking to buy a house or improve their credit score. Thank You AHF

A very compassionate and professionally run organization! I have volunteered for, worked with and referred clients to Affordable Homeownership Foundation, Inc. since it's conception not only because of my faith in the CEO's dedication to her client's and Veteran's but also because I have witnessed first hand the vast amount of people she and her organization have assisted in many different situations. Affordable Homeownership Foundation is a FABULOUS organization that I support wholeheartedly!! I have seen wonderful work done by them for Veteran's in need and I also send all my clients to them for their required homebuyer counseling classes online and/or live. The CEO works very hard and is personally involved on a daily basis. Please show your support for Lois Yanulavich Healy and her foundation!!!
Have met with the CEO on numerous occasions and involving multiple housing projects and she is one of a kind. She never loses sight of those she serves. She and her organization are true servants of the community with hearts of gold. I am honored to work with her and look forward to many collaborative efforts in the future. Dean Essa
