I came to know more about the work of ASTT, while I get engaged to support their fundraising activities over the last two months. I have witnessed the immense dedication of the staff and superb professional service they give at the center to help the inflicted to heal and survive. Since I have survived torture as a political prisoner, it was inspirational for me to see ASTT’s success in terms of providing the warmth, human connection and holistic professional care that a torture survivor needs to thrive again. I am also impressed by the multifaceted support ASTT avails in addition to counseling service to help the refugee clients build up their personal life and be part of a fervent community activities .

I previously served as a Board Member and volunteer for this tremendous organization. Everyone working at the organization is incredibly passionate about the service provided and the mission of the organization.

I have the utmost respect for the individual efforts each staff member at ASTT shows, helping clients seeking to gain asylum who have so few options in the U.S. ASTT is an invaluable resource.

As a development volunteer at ASTT, I have the unique perspective of being a donor and an active participant in the organization's mission. I work closely with everyone in the office, and I have the opportunity to interact with clients as well. Every person who works for ASTT is caring, competent and supremely empathetic to the trials faced by asylum seekers who are survivors of torture. Watching clients as they interact with the staff is truly humbling. Here are people who have been physically and psychologically harmed by agents of their governments, escaped certain death and face mountains of red tape in order to become US citizens, yet they maintain such a positive outlook on their lives and situations, and it's all because of the incredible work that the staff at ASTT do every day. If there is an organization out there more worthy of recognition, I don't know what it is! ASTT's staff and clients are nothing short of truly remarkable!
