ASP has made the world a better and better-informed place in countless ways; it’s hard to know where to start. Their lecture series on YouTube (under the banner Snakes are Everything) is so good that when I send people links I sometimes re-watch lectures myself, just because. Their educational programs for younger students are top-notch, and, on the policy level, they’ve helped reduce or eliminate cruel practices that affect not only snakes but the ecosystems they live in. ASP’s online information about everything from snake fencing to dog snake-avoidance training helps anyone who needs an on-the-ground solution for potential conflict—and so does the executive director, who’s incredibly patient and helpful about emailed questions. If you’re facing a purveyor of urban myths about snakes, it’s easy to pull up peer-reviewed research papers from ASP’s founders or—more often, because a video is worth a thousand well-that’s-not-what-I-heard arguments—one of their videos illustrating snake behavior and ecology. And then there are the “Snake Break” videos—a lovely buoy in times of badness. Thank you, Advocates for Snake Preservation!
ASP is the the forefront of snake education, preservation and advocacy. Its outreach is highly effective, and its mission is obvious and important.
As a snake education and relocator, ASP is one organization that I can wholeheartedly endorse based on its unwavering commitment to education, which is especially important for that demographic which may not appreciate or understand snakes as much as some of us do.
This is a committed group of dedicated people doing a great work. Please consider making a donation to their very worthwhile cause.

Ah, thank you so much for your kind words! We couldn't do this work without our fantastic supporters like you helping to get the word out.
I love an underdog! As an aficionado of all things misunderstood, I have always identified with the darker side of life. I’ve worked jobs that most people wouldn’t even try and found them to be the most rewarding. Along these lines I find myself aligned with snakes, bats, insects and other sentient beings often feared by humans. My hat goes off to ASP and their work and love of snakes. May they continue to change the way folks see our slithering brethren.

ASP is exactly the voice that snakes, especially rattlesnakes need. While I don't have a specific story with them, I want to say that their work is acknowledged by the Tucson Herpetological Society's Jarchow Conservation Award. It is given to those whose work is exemplary in the conservation of amphibians and reptiles in the deserts of North America. We commend them.

A.S.P. is an amazing org that educates people about the environmental benefits of snakes and their natural beauty. Most people have misguided perceptions about snakes and A.S.P. works tirelessly to educate people and protect snakes. I wish I could donate more to them, they humbly and graciously accept whatever help you can give and use it wisely.
I find the site has useful information and is well written. I am against people killing snakes for no reason and I want to help protect snakes of all kinds.
As a newcomer to Arizona, fascinated by local snakes, this non-profit has supplied me with a wealth of valuable information that is also practical. We often hear stories from our neighbors about killing snakes, because they're afraid of then, when in fact there is little to fear. Organizations like this one are raising much-needed awareness about snakes, and how they both benefit and beautify local ecosystems. By conserving them we are helping to preserve our own environments.
