Mission: Act exists to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone. To do this, we equip brave men and women to fight crime on their street using the justice system.
Results: In evaluating the specific cases we worked in 2020 - 2022, the average number of residents per home is 3.2 people with over 2,300 homes that fall within the three tiers. With 52 resolutions between 2020 and 2022, we found that 2,353 homes occupied by 7,372 men, women and children that were once within the shadow of a drug house are now experiencing the light of that shadow lifted and the freedom of safety.

Programs: Act’s vision is to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone. A private solution to a public problem, Act uses the civil justice system to connect residents with police officers, lawyers from top-tier law firms, local churches and nonprofits, and other impacted neighbors. This coalition of invested stakeholders utilizes existing civil law by seeking a court order requiring property owners to stop illegal activity from happening on their property. This allows residents the freedom to pursue their private right to live in a safe neighborhood. As a nation, we have historically viewed criminal activity solely through a law enforcement lens. However, through Act’s work, we are able to provide an alternative solution that complements the work of law enforcement. Empowering those closest to the problem — the residents themselves — results in a sustainable eradication of crime and violence. Act’s innovative model is founded on the biblical principle of loving your neighbor, reinforced by the latest in place-based criminology, and rooted in the desire to bring about a stronger and more vibrant society. Act is the recipient of numerous honors and awards, including the Manhattan Institute Richard C. Cornuelle Award for Social Entrepreneurship, WORLD Magazine Hope Award Regional Winner, the Safer Dallas Better Dallas Public Safety Leader Award, and the D CEO Nonprofit Team of the Year.
