I've been a resident of Advance Housing in Lafayette for 8+ years. When I moved in it was really nice and management was in touch with us. Now our councilors & Local staff are Awesome, HOWEVER the upper management in Teterboro are disconnected and out of touch with the residents and their needs, they are in desperate need of training on dealing with the Disabled, building management and maintenance as well, they tend to wait till something brakes rather than maintaining it.. They seem to be more interested in money,than providing the services we so desperately need..

Mission: The mission of advance housing, inc. Is to expand the range and scope of supportive housing opportunities available to persons with psychiatric disabilities. In addition, we will seek to make similar options and services available to other consumers who are in need of supportive housing.
Programs: The supportive living program bergen, provides mental health consumers with a choice of permanent, affordable, and safe housing. Services are flexible and allow consumers to maintain independence and lifestyle of their choosing. A limited supply of scatter-sites, agency owned housing is available for this program. Services are provided in bergen county by a multi-disciplinary team capable of meeting consumers needs.
the advance consumer choice & empowerment program offers consumers from state psychiatric hospitals an opportunity to live independently in their own one bedroom apartments while also receiving intensive support services. Consumers will be supported by a multidisciplinary team that will work in collaboration with the consumer and external supports to provide the most effective individualized treatment services possible, vocational assistance, mica counseling in addition to an array of other services.

other programs include:a) the homeless service team provides permanent supportive housing and case management services to individuals who are diagnosed with psychiatric disabilities and have a history of homelessness and/or chronic homelessness in bergen county. Using a housing first model, consumers receive affordable housing plus an array of case management services. B) property management- the purpose of this program is to manage and maintain 29 rental properties owned by advance housing, inc and affiliates. 19 of these rental properties are owned by advance housing, inc. Property management oversees rental subsidies, lease re-certifications, rent ups, and physical inspections of owned and leased properties. The staff is on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to emergency facility issues. All of the operating budgets of the properties owned by advance housing, inc. Are represented in this program.
