I started with AaBR by fostering bulldogs in my home. I cared for them after eye surgeries, with skin disorders, allergies....bulldogs are high maintenance dogs so they do require extra work. Soon after I started helping transport dogs, assisting with events and with time and as my schedule allowed, I became more involved. When the VP moved away, I was offered the position and I absolutely love it. 100% of all donations go to the bulldogs and their care. I have 5 bulldogs in my care at any given time, plus many homes who are kind enough to open their doors for our rescues. Not all bulldogs are the same, so we strive to give the best care we can to every single one. We screen homes, we keep all our fur-babies in foster homes to get to know their temperament and we have rescued over 600 bulldogs this far. I love this non-profit and we only hope to grow a little bit everyday.
Adopt-a-Bull Rescue is an English Bulldog rescue. While designated for English Bulldogs their hearts are huge and they tend to help where they are needed most, regardless of breed. The organizers do a great job of not only rescuing but maintaining contact with 'furever' families and engaging donors/members to participate in events and activities. I appreciated the opportunity to socialize my bullies and meet others with the same love and admiration for the breed.
