Mission: Action Africa works to support needy children and families in sub-Saharan Africa, and African immigrants in the U.S., in the vital areas of health, education, economic generativity, and human rights.
Children are the heart of African life. By surrounding them with educational, nutritional and medical support, our sponsorship programs direct them towards economic independence. Since 2000, we have held free clinics and educational programs for villages in Nigeria and then expanded into Sierra Leone. Our philosophy is to begin where a village is addressing a particular need, support these efforts, and weave HIV/AIDS education throughout. We partner with local villagers, African immigrant associations, and international NGOs.
Programs: Surround-a-child educational sponsorship program: currently being implemented in Sierra Leone and Nigeria. This benefits at-risk children who are offered ways and means to be in school, receive educational supplies, nutrition, clothing, and care.
